Miami Beach sent armed police to Raquel Pacheco’s home because she criticized the Mayor’s rhetoric about Palestinians on social media. The officers refused to leave and told her not to post such content again.
Now, a federal judge has ruled that Raquel’s First Amendment lawsuit, brought by ADC, can proceed.
VICTORY in @adc case Pacheco v. City of Miami Beach! Earlier this year, the Mayor sent police to veteran Raquel Pacheco's house because she had criticized the Mayor's dehumanizing rhetoric against Palestinians on social media.
The cops refused to leave even though she said she didn't want to speak to them without a lawyer, insinuated her post could be unlawful as it could incite violence, and told her to refrain from posting such content in the future.
Today, the judge in the Southern District of Miami DENIED much of Defendants' motion to dismiss, finding that the police visit could constitute unlawful viewpoint discrimination and retaliation under the First Amendment. The judge also held we could proceed on our theory of municipal liability against the City, because we had alleged facts demonstrating a pattern or practice of discriminating against pro-Palestine speech in the City of Miami Beach. "Blaming Islam or the Muslim Brotherhood for Nobel outcomes is blatant anti-Arab bigotry, not to mention factually inaccurate. 🚨ADC secured the return of four electronic devices seized from Muhammad Numaan Imam and Khadijah Mansoor at Dulles Airport. In Imam v. Mullin, a federal judge ordered CBP to provide sworn accounts of whether agents unlocked, searched, or extracted data from the devices, raising serious Fourth Amendment concerns.

“It was like this biblical battle where the Palestinian men … went in front of me to protect me.”
It’s young Palestinian men who put their lives on the line every day to defend their families, homes, and even foreign journalists from violent Israeli settlers and soldiers.
“It was like this biblical battle where the Palestinian men … went in front of me to protect … me and my rescuers from being attacked again,” Washington Post photojournalist Heidi Levine told Jake Tapper.
Levine was kicked, beaten with clubs and robbed by Israeli settlers while covering Friday’s olive harvest in the occupied West Bank, leaving her with multiple broken bones. Speaking after leaving the hospital, she said Israeli soldiers charged Palestinian farmers as settlers advanced alongside them. She said that unlike her, Palestinian victims endure these attacks daily, with absolutely nowhere safe to go.

🇮🇱 🇵🇸 Israel has committed the crime against humanity of "extermination" in the West Bank, while continuing to commit "genocide" against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, United Nations-mandated investigators said on Monday ➡️ u.afp.com/SywJ
Once again, President Trump resorts to fearmongering and hateful rhetoric instead of offering real solutions to the problems Americans face. Families are struggling with the rising costs of groceries, gas, and basic living expenses, yet the President would rather stoke fear and division than address their concerns. This rhetoric is tired, dangerous, and designed to distract from the realities facing everyday Americans. I hope voters see through these tactics so we can come together and focus on getting this country back on track.

UPDATE in Imam v Mullin: at an emergency hearing held today in federal court in Alexandria, Judge Brinkema ordered the government to submit information by CoB Monday about what it did with the plaintiffs’ phones and laptops during their unlawful seizure.
She expressed concern about what happened here, particularly because Mr. Imam works as a psychiatric nurse and his devices contain confidential patient records and information, and Ms. Mansoor’s devices contain her work product as a software engineer as well as photos of her without her hijab, and the thought of strangers viewing them caused her great distress.
The government stated today at the hearing that they had recently returned the items, although they hadn’t yet reached plaintiffs.
This is one of several cases in which @adc is challenging the CBP’s seizure of electronic devices at the border, which is escalating in frequency and appears targeted and punitive. As we and other groups argue and are urging the Supreme Court to hold, such action violates the Fourth Amendment and should be prohibited without a warrant
We @adc are again on the frontlines of the fight against CBP’s abuse of its authority at the border. The agency has been using the border search exception to punish and retaliate against journalists, activists and lawyers who express views contra to the Administrations— as it did in our other two cases on behalf of @MaxBlumenthal and lawyer Jalal Shehadeh—by insisting on accessing the contents of their phones, and seizing those devices when such access was refused. Our new client Muhammad Imam protested, when he explained that as a psychiatric nurse, his phone contained confidential patient data and so he refused to permit CBP access. CBP punitively took his phone and laptop, as well as those belonging to his wife, and revoked his global entry status. We have hearing tomorrow in the eastern district of Virginia, where we will demand an explanation for CBP’s unlawful conduct. I obtained 140 pages of internal State Department emails from when I was being imprisoned and interrogated by the IDF. The correspondence reveals that U.S. officials referred to me as “kidnapped” by the Israeli military while explicitly refusing to consider me "wrongfully detained." Officials were informed of day-long interrogations and made aware of my detention in a notoriously abusive Israeli prison. The emails show no U.S. effort to intervene on my behalf, only a focus on PR and limiting political fallout.

After a two-day blackout from the New York Times homepage on anything related to Gaza, the occupied West Bank or Lebanon, today [10/23/2026], the New York Times homepage has a single report from the West Bank. The article reports on Israeli soldiers who were shot by Palestinians - and in a blatant act of propaganda, the headline fails to acknowledge the Israelis were armed soldiers - instead just calls them "Israelis"
Two days ago, ADC documented how The New York Times homepage completely ignored anything Gaza, the occupied West Bank and Lebanon. Today, October 22, 2026, the same blackout continues: across more than 160 news items, opinion pieces and videos, there is not a single item covering Gaza, the occupied West Bank or Lebanon.

“As in previous years, security forces are working to facilitate a safe and orderly olive harvest season”
Earlier today, a number of harvesters, accompanied by dozens of individuals, arrived to conduct an uncoordinated olive harvest in an area near Beitar Illit. Harvesting in this area requires a request to be submitted to the relevant authorities in advance of the start of the olive harvest season. This coordination is necessary to ensure the security of the area and maintain public order.
Due to the security risk posed by conducting an uncoordinated harvest near an Israeli community, IDF soldiers, Border Police forces in Judea and Samaria, and officers from the Judea and Samaria District Police arrived at the scene and detained those present.
The landowner was informed that he must coordinate the olive harvest on his plot of land and was provided with the relevant contact information to arrange a harvest at a later date.
It should be emphasized that authorized olive harvests have taken place and continue to take place. To date, approximately 100 coordinated harvests have been conducted across Judea and Samaria, yielding many dozens of tons of produce, with security provided and coordination by the security forces, without any unusual incidents.
In areas designated for coordinated harvesting, only harvesters will be permitted to enter, solely for the purpose of harvesting.
As in previous years, security forces are working to facilitate a safe and orderly olive harvest season, with a firm commitment to enabling harvesting without unusual incidents or interruptions, alongside their ongoing defensive and counterterrorism missions.

I’m obsessed with this fascistic Israeli cop who shoved me twice, cut his elbow, stared at it for a while, then tapped me on the shoulder, pointed at his boo-boo, and said, “See what happen?”
Twelve soldiers + police showed up in Taybeh olive field to stop a single Palestinian olive farmer from harvesting a single tree. After harassing him for 30+ minutes, a car full of some sort of special police officers stormed in and violently arrested the journalist/activist @the_andrey_x. One of the arresting officers shoved me, then showed me his bloody elbow and said I did it to him. (So if they take me next, that’s probably their pretense.) Second and third videos are other angle of the shove (including it here to be safe). Fourth video is from just before—the major military operation to stop a farmer from picking olives. Fascist state.
🚨 ADC has filed an emergency motion demanding the return of four electronic devices seized by CBP from a couple returning from a family trip to Turkey with their one-year-old child.
When psychiatric nurse practitioner Muhammad Numaan Imam refused to unlock his phone to protect confidential patient information, CBP seized his phone, his wife’s phone, and both their laptops. The next day, his Global Entry membership was revoked.
ADC is asking a federal court to order the return of their devices, prevent further searches, and require the government to disclose what data it may have extracted. This is the latest in ADC’s growing legal fight against warrantless seizures of electronic devices at U.S. borders.

Forensic investigators found that 335 bullets were fired into the car carrying five-year-old Hind Rajab and her family in Gaza. The Israeli unit implicated in their killing was commanded by Sean Glass, who is now in New York City.
Glass commanded the “Vampire Empire” Company of the IDF’s 52nd Armored Battalion, part of the 401st Armored Brigade. ADC is calling on the Trump administration to arrest and prosecute him for alleged war crimes. The U.S. must not be a safe haven for those accused of such crimes.

Amazing organizing work by @Intllawcenter . A huge victory for their tireless work in Palm Beach County.
For those who missed it, this past Thursday the Palm Beach County Investment Policy Committee declined to raise the cap on Israel Bond buys, which means barring some huge influx of cash flooding the coffers in the next few weeks they will be unable to reinvest the bonds maturing in November.
Clearly they're not crazy about all the extra attention they are getting. Keep it up!!

🧵 The Israeli settlers’ violent assault on American photojournalist and Washington Post contributor Heidi Levine on Oct. 16 follows a wave of similar incidents against Palestinian and foreign journalists in the occupied West Bank.
In the first eight months of 2026, Israeli settlers assaulted, harassed, or obstructed at least 35 journalists in the West Bank.
The Trump Administration has stated that it has no higher priority than the safety and security of U.S. citizens abroad. Given Israel’s longstanding failure to deliver accountability for attacks on journalists over the last 20+ years, the U.S. government must ensure that proper investigations are conducted and perpetrators are held accountable. U.S. targeted sanctions and other meaningful consequences must also follow.
Impunity for crimes against journalists must end. Journalism is #NotACrime. cpj.org/2026/10/american-pho…

“Glass is not just another man implicated in the killing of Hind Rajab. He is the man who most likely gave the order to open fire,” said HRF Director General Dyab Abou Jahjah.
The Hind Rajab Foundation has filed an urgent request with the US Department of Justice to investigate, arrest, and prosecute Sean Glass, an Israeli commander who committed war crimes and genocide in Gaza.
Glass commanded the “Vampire Empire” company, which HRF says was responsible for the killing of five-year-old Hind Rajab, members of her family, and the paramedics who tried to rescue them.
The foundation says its investigation places Glass and his troops near Hind’s vehicle during the attack and that he most likely ordered the troops to open fire.

If, as you correctly note, the problem is not just violent settlers, but the expansion of the settlement enterprise and support of the Israeli government, then the West Bank Violence Prevention Act is insufficient. You need to support @JoaquinCastrotx's Stop the Settlements Act.
Unchecked settler violence in the West Bank is unacceptable. Within the last several days, Palestinians, European diplomats, and American journalist Heidi Levine have faced horrifying attacks by settlers.
Condemnations, opening of investigations, and the arrest of 10 settlers today is a start, but far more must be done to rein in settler violence. When Prime Minister Netanyahu’s government retroactively legalizes outposts, when Finance Minister Smotrich and National Security Minister Ben-Gvir openly support settlement expansion, and when settlement projects such as E1 are allowed to proceed, all these actions enable further settler violence.
We must ensure perpetrators of instability in the West Bank are held accountable. Congress should pass the West Bank Violence Prevention Act, legislation I introduced with Representatives Nadler and Himes that would sanction individuals and entities destabilizing the West Bank. Those threatening peace and stability in the West Bank must face consequences to prevent further terror and unrest.
