Our Christian values and the belief that God is involved with our lives and impacting the outcomes of civilizations is not something new. It’s not fringe or peripheral. This Judeo-Christian worldview has been at the heart of our national formation since before our beginning as a nation. Our legal system, our educational system, our business values, and our community values were all derived from those Judeo-Christian principles. The Bible was used as a textbook in our schools for decades. Pastors used to preach election sermons. They would talk about current issues, the candidates who were running, and their positions on those issues. At one point in our history, sermons were printed on the front page of the leading newspapers in the major cities. If you haven’t noticed, our money says, “In God We Trust.” This is the essence of who we are as a people. So Church, let's show up and vote on November 3. Use your voice in the sphere of influence that God has given you.

When God moves, there are some characteristics typically present. First, it's often uncomfortable. Second, it is not always easy or simple. In fact, when God begins to move, it's often difficult to imagine God is involved at all. You just recognize there's a lot of change. Third, in the midst of God moving, expressions of evil that oppose God's objectives become really visible. Finally, when God moves, He works in and through people. Opposition isn’t proof God is absent. It’s often confirmation that He is at work. In this podcast, we look at the signs of revival we’re seeing today and what it will take for the Church to awaken the culture.

When our friend Jesus is prohibited from the public square, it’s called “tolerance.” When we speak of His principles and boundaries, it’s called “hate speech.” We had better wake up. We will either yield to the Spirit of Christ, or we will serve the spirit of antichrist. There’s no gray area, no third option. When we reject God—individually, as families, as communities of faith, as a nation—the result is tremendous suffering.

We have an assignment make disciples of the nations. The people of faith have to lead. You are so valuable in your neighborhoods, in the schools where your children attend, and in all the places where God has sent you. It is a lie in your heart that you're insignificant and nobody cares about your opinion. Will you use your influence to help people wake up to what God is doing in the earth? I'm not opposed to hobbies and enjoying and pursuing them, but don't relegate them to first place. You know what the technical word for that is? Idolatry. We think there's fulfillment someplace other than the Lord, a greater or more lasting fulfillment, a greater or more purposeful refreshment. So we relegate serving the Lord to some secondary position. Let's learn to prioritize the Lord.

We’ve been sitting on our good intentions, thinking the next election was going to change us or an economic upturn would make things better. We’ve thought this was going to happen apart from us. We are the people of God. We’re light and salt. If the light is dim and the salt is absent, it’s on us. I know what the Bible says about the alien and the stranger among us. That's different from an invasion. God didn't send Gideon to give rest to all the Midianites who were invading the nation. He led him to a group of 300 men who would bring an incredible victory because of God's power. "Do not move the ancient boundary Or go into the fields of the fatherless, For their Redeemer is strong; He will plead their case against you." Proverbs 23:10-11 (NASB) You had better not manipulate boundaries to take advantage of people who have less power than you, or God will take up the case.

If our foundations are inadequate, and then we face trials, deception, doubts, and confusion, our foundation will collapse. Scripture is not simply a collection of stories; it's a demonstration of God's power and presence throughout history. His unfolding plan for the redemption of the world and how we should address the issues in our culture are evident in His Word. So how do we start building a firm foundation for our faith? We're living in a season of confusion in the Church about whether to have a voice around current events. We've lived for decades with the notion that faith and politics were inappropriate conversations in polite company. So, we've left them out of our familiar discussions, and our biblical worldview has not been a part of public discourse. Now we are told our faith could be offensive and is unwelcome in public settings, and we have all quietly retreated. Unless we intend to hand our children and grandchildren over to wicked ideologies and values, we must gain the courage to bring our faith back into the public square. Anytime territory is surrendered and must be retaken, there's a price to be paid. Yet, if we don't have the courage to do it, we'll leave it to another generation, and I don't want that to be our legacy. Let's seek the Lord and advocate for the truth we know!

Hatred of the Jewish people is not new, and it's driven by the spirit of antichrist. Our Lord, Jesus of Nazareth, was an observant Jewish man, and the same spirit that orchestrated His execution on a Roman cross is at work in the earth today, with expressed hatred toward the Covenant People of God—both the Jewish people and those who believe Jesus is the Messiah. To stand on their behalf against that spirit is an assignment in the Church. Watch, "Spiritual Forces at Work in Revelation," on the Allen Jackson Ministries YouTube channel.

They didn't put Jesus on a cross because He talked about ancient history. Jesus was a threat because He engaged in a conversation around the events of His day. Folks, the solutions to our problems are not going to come primarily through politics. Some of the answers may be delivered through those political arenas, but the problems we have are spiritual, and the solutions will come because of spiritual breakthroughs. Those are initiated by people of faith, not politicians. We've been afraid, intimidated, or cowardly, but we have to find the courage to talk about what's shaping our world. The conflict in Israel has pulled back the curtain on something that has existed for centuries across cultures, governments, and nationalities: the hatred of the Jewish people. It's illogical and irrational, but it is real and driven by a spirit. You need to know that the same spirit that hates the Jewish people hates Christ-followers just as much. What you hear being said of the Jewish people is being said of you. But the Lord is moving, and it's an important time for the Church to be the Church.

The United States of America has been an advocate for the Jewish people and for the nation of Israel since 1948. From their inception, we’ve stood with them for the most part. I wasn’t prepared for the intellectual elites in our nation, and for the administrations and university leaders who protect those elites, to embrace Jew hatred. They gave it credibility and a place, and I believe that began the decline of those institutions. I think we’ll continue to watch their influence plunge. Today there’s a very different spirit present in America. Los Angeles is about to elect a pro-US socialist as mayor. So New York City and Los Angeles, the two most powerful cities in America, will have people leading them who hate the Jews and embrace socialism. I think there’s a connection between the attitudes. I think our willingness to give place to hating the Jewish people in America has corresponded with the rise of socialism. I tell you all this because the church is on the front line. Our voices as advocates for the Jewish people, we learn those things from the Scripture. Politics is downstream of our faith, folks. Elections are just reflective of our spiritual health. Politics is not going to save us, nor secure our children’s future. Only a vibrant, healthy church will do that.

"For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place, but you and your father’s family will perish. And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?” — Esther 4:14 (NIV) If the Church steps back and remains silent, evil will prevail. Being silent is equivalent to being part of the chorus for wickedness and ungodliness—there is no such thing as covert Christianity. There's no neutral middle ground. The voices for wickedness have been too loud for too long, and the voices for obeying God have been too timid and soft for too long. It's time for the Body of Christ to find a voice and advocate for the Jewish people. Jesus encountered Satan and demonic activity during His time on Earth. He treated them as credible. He understood them to be a real adversary and acknowledged that the intent of the enemy is to harm the purposes of God. If Jesus believed those things, will you allow me to suggest that perhaps so should we? I'm not asking you to be weird. I'm not trying to put you in conflict with science or psychology. I'm just trying to say Jesus believed this, and we should never imagine we're more sophisticated than He is.

In 1948, the Jews had nowhere to go, and the Europeans didn't want them back. The United Nations, at the prompting of the United States, said that the Jewish people could be established in their historic homeland. The original UN agreement made a place for a Jewish homeland and a homeland for the Palestinian people. On the day the UN made that proclamation, all the surrounding nations—Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, Egypt—attacked Israel, a brand new country. Day one, no standing government, no standing military, no real international support. I have friends that lived there, and they heard people on the radio telling the people in the area, "Take a week's vacation. We're gonna drive the Jews into the sea." And somehow, inexplicably, the Jewish nation survived. When we talk about the West Bank, we're talking about land on the west bank of the Jordan River. At the end of that war, the Jordanians controlled it. The people who lived there had Jordanian passports. Nobody called the people there Palestinians. There was never a Palestinian government there. Palestine referred to a region, like we refer to the southeastern United States. It was a name for a region in the Middle East because the Romans didn't want the Jews there anymore. Then came the Six-Day War. Israel was attacked, and at the end of it, the Israelis had captured the West Bank. From 1967 until today, it's been a disputed territory. The Israelis, under a great deal of pressure from the Americans, put together a peace deal that would have given the Palestinian people the entire West Bank and half of Jerusalem. That was the deal on the table. And Yasser Arafat said, "No, we want it all." At multiple points in this story, the leadership of the people in this region have refused to make peace. In the Six-Day War, the Jews took control of the Temple Mount, the holiest place in all of Judaism, for the first time since 70 AD. Then Moshe Dayan went to the Prime Minister and said, "If we give to the Muslim nations the Temple Mount, our holiest place on the planet, they will understand how much we want peace." So the Israelis gave the Temple Mount to the Muslim people—and it didn't bring any peace. So, did Israel steal the Palestinians' land? The reality is that the Israelis didn't steal anyone's land. The Muslim world wasn't interested in the Palestinian people having a homeland. They're determined to drive the Jews into the sea. This is why it is crucial for Christians to understand history and to pray for the Jewish people.

If we treat compromise as if it's no big deal, if we think we can negotiate with God, then we make a mockery of the crucifixion of Jesus. If we could negotiate our sin, then we wouldn't have needed a Savior. It's not kind or compassionate to tolerate things that are contrary to God's Word. So why do so many Christians live as if it is? On a new episode of the Culture & Christianity podcast, Dr. George Barna and I talk about why worldview matters and how few believers actually hold the core beliefs necessary to have a true biblical worldview. There was a terror attack aboard a flydubai flight. The copilot, a Muslim extremist, stabbed the pilot to take the plane down, and the plane dove several thousand feet. There were 166 Israelis on board, and with the help of some of the flight attendants, the passengers broke into the cabin and subdued the terrorist. When there's a string of more than a dozen coincidences, at some point we can't say this is just coincidence anymore. One of the men just happened to enjoy watching videos of planes under distress and had some sense of what to do to help stabilize the plane. Can you hear that announcement on the intercom? "Don't be afraid, I've seen a YouTube video." The New York Times reported that there had been an altercation on a flight to Tel Aviv. Folks, that was not an altercation, it was a terrorist attack. It leaked from enough of the non-traditional media sources that eventually the legacy media had to acknowledge that something had happened. It was more than an argument between the pilot and the copilot. The plane landed safely, and no lives were lost. It's a miracle.

The mission we understand God has given us is to help people become more fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ. Our assignment is to grow up in our salvation day after day, week after week, month after month, and have tangible evidence in our lives that we are becoming more fully devoted followers of Jesus of Nazareth. We should be serving Him more fully, giving more generously, and striving for holiness, purity, and godliness with greater intensity than at any point in our journey. Now, our righteousness before God is a gift through Jesus' sacrifice, but having received the gift of righteousness, the value we attach to that is evidenced in the efforts you demonstrate in yielding yourself fully to the lordship of Jesus. A lack of effort suggests little value in the gift we have been given. So our goal and agenda is to help one another become fully devoted followers of Jesus.

A group of us went to Washington, DC, and watched the videos of the October 7th attacks. The terrorists who came into Israel wore GoPro cameras on their heads. They were sending the messages back to their families in Gaza. I heard them laughing, saying, "We're killing Jews today." And their families back in Gaza were screaming at them over their phones, "Kill more, kill more." I won't go into a lot of detail, but they abused women in front of the fathers and brothers, and then killed the fathers and brothers in front of the women, and then killed the women. They did unthinkable things. The citizens of Gaza were driving their cars and their pickup trucks through the holes cut in the fence, and they were bringing hoes and axes, and they were murdering the people in the communities. After October 7th, the Israelis said, "Hamas, a terrorist organization, cannot remain in charge in Gaza." Now, the Israelis gave, and still do, hundreds and hundreds of tons of food to the people of Gaza. Convoys of trucks on a weekly basis have been going into Gaza since this all began, with food and medicine. And Hamas would confiscate it and then sell it to the people of Gaza. Hamas had built all these tunnels underground. They took more than 200 hostages and kept them for months and months and tortured them. They took hospitals and stored their weapons in hospitals. They dug command bunkers under daycare centers. And when the leaders of Hamas would go out in public, they would carry babies and small children with them. So the Israelis had to come up with a whole new way to conduct warfare against an enemy hiding behind children in schools and hospitals. They would go into whole neighborhoods and say, "We're going to attack this neighborhood on Tuesday. If you're not a combatant, leave." Now, there were innocent people that died. That's a matter of record. But it was not an attempt to annihilate the people of Gaza, or they wouldn't be there. We can talk about the tragedy of war, but it is not genocide. It doesn't meet the definition. It's not what happened.
