quote from a P+S client who paired on a task with our team this week: "you just made a 2 hr task for me take only 2 mins."
pairing doesn't always save time (sometimes it adds it tbh) but it does unlock the value you get from close collaboration with smart colleagues.

Pairing Sessions: Born from Xtreme Programming and @vmwaretanzulabs, two people (client + consultant) doing the work together live (same code, database, automated email platform, etc…). Less talking about the work and more doing it together. partandsum.com/blog/two-head…
I support prioritizing care workers to get more women at work and improve our economy. But this take on being in the office is narcissistic - just because your early years were all lunch at Pret and drinks at Raines doesn't mean others need that to find professional success.
Find mentors, colleagues, and mates … get to the office. All of these things can happen on a screen, most will not.

Love my team. Wouldn't want to be entering an economic downturn with any other gang at my side.
This week was @partandsum 19th “Together” offsite. Each of them has a theme, and this year’s was “Connection”. Here’s what we learned:
Thank you to @realMattKParker for inspiring us with insights from his research for A Radical Enterprise. Loved this one about the importance of creating a work environment that empowers people to be leaders.

"Leadership is contextual - in different situations, different people will naturally become the leader." Create systems that allow for maximum leadership amongst people within an organization. @awkward_hug
Part and Sum is all about insights and getting to insights requires discovery, research, experiments and analysis. We’re pushing ourselves to take our processes and thinking (and findings, too); and to share more publicly via notion. @jimbabb shared more:
I’m excited to share, for the first time, @partandsum’s Operating System. Our ambition is to make the vast majority of our thinking, documents, and processes completely accessible to the public. How we got here: partandsum-os.notion.site/Pa…
As a business owner who is less than a week away from giving birth, I’ve been thinking about our leave policy and have even re-visited parts of it lately. Here’s what I’m focused on:
✔️ Flexibility without judgment
✔️ Clarity and equity
✔️ Being as generous as possible
Check out our leave policy: notion.so/partandsum-os/Part…. I’ve highlighted the updates I’d like to make and will be reviewing them with the team.
