The man everyone warned NOT to take over Sonic just revealed his comeback plan.
Sonic Lab's new CEO, @MattVisser, inherited a project many had written off. Now he's rebuilding it from the ground up.
New strategy. Real adoption. And a VERY different approach to the sonic-3:native token.
Is this crypto's BIGGEST comeback story?

With or without clarity, the rest of the world will continue to innovate and @SonicLabs is going to be a big part of it. We're not going anywhere.
This one's hard to read.
Beets started as a Balancer fork. The architecture, the pool types, the thinking behind all of it, that's their legacy. We wouldn't exist without them, and a good deal of DeFi wouldn't look the way it does either.
For anyone asking, Beets isn't winding down. Our contracts are deployed and running on Sonic, pools and withdrawals work as they did yesterday, and $stS is unaffected. Business as usual.
Here's to years working closely alongside such a wonderful team.
Big love to the @Balancer crew.
A proposal to wind down Balancer and distribute the treasury to BAL holders is live on the forum, authored by Marcus Hardt. Discussion is open; a Snapshot vote is expected to happen from 25 to 29 September.
Nothing changes today: pools and withdrawals work as they do now. Any wind-down action waits for the vote.
August went net negative.
~2M $BEETS bought from the open market against 1.55M emitted. ~369k went straight back out as gauge rewards.
~809k was the first treasury buyback under BIP-116 and the second half of the proposal cuts 120k $BEETS from every gauge vote from mid-September.
Half the mechanism is live and it's already turning.

There's more than to what we're doing than meets the eye, and we want to make sure developers, users, and community members all understand that we're improving the technical and business aspects of Sonic hand-in-hand.
The evolution of Sonic is just getting started.

Replying to @beets_fi
@beets_fi is voting to cut biweekly liquidity-provider rewards 28.6%, from 420,000 to 300,000 $BEETS, and spend up to $4,000 a month on open-market buybacks to reduce net inflation.
Liquidity providers earn these rewards based on votes over trading pools. The proposal would limit eligibility to fee-generating or strategically important pools, with the DAO’s Music Directors deciding which qualify. Bought tokens would remain in the DAO treasury.
The proposal says this could result in more BEETS being purchased than distributed. A voter opposed the plan, arguing higher emissions could attract holders and increase engagement, while buybacks make little sense if Sonic is near a market bottom.
17 wallets have cast 31,864,501 governance voting power so far: 99.0% For, 1.0% Against, 0.0% Abstain. Quorum cleared at 796.6%.
Voting closes August 29th at 10am UTC.

Sonic Transaction Bundles
Most onchain actions are not really one action. A user may click “deposit,” but behind the scenes the app may need to approve a token, swap assets, deposit into a vault, and stake the position.
Today, that often means multiple transactions and multiple points of failure.
Refreshing. @SonicLabs shifting gears for the future.🫡
