Bitcoin in Your IRA?!? Here's What Wall Street Doesn't Want You to Know xitter.cf/i/broadcasts/1MJgNbXVV…
Jason Calacanis this morning: “No one is trying to convince people to buy Bitcoin anymore.”
A day earlier, Coinbase said it powers bitcoin buys in JPMorgan, Citi and PNC’s banking apps.
The pitch moved to the bank. Also, @Jason ask your No Agenda co-host @adamcurry. He's never stopped pitching bitcoin!
A brutal year for Bitcoin is just getting started.
Give me three minutes to explain why you should dump it now.
Outflows from ETFs are signal and will continue.
We will test the 57k low again in the next 12 months.
Why?
Because there are far too many dynamic places to put your money that are creating MUCH more value.
Why put your resources into a dead network that offers nothing beyond a store of value?
What's the point of place the BTC be if Bitcoin's Ponzi-scheme nature has gone away!?!
The viral nature of bitcoin was it's power... if you didn't own you were MOCKED!
Now? Completely reasonable, heck, SMARTER, to ignore bitcoin and place other bets!
No one is trying to convince people to buy Bitcoin anymore... the memes and NFTs are gone.
No one is saying $ BTC can change the world, because it won't — and BECAUSE AI HAS!
Just sell and shift from Bitcoin to Super Intelligence because one provides little to no value, and the other provides unlimited upside for humanity.
This should be obvious to everyone right now.
Bitcoin will never break its all-time high again.
Bitcoin wealth has outgrown the old playbook.
@BTCFOGroup is building the professional layer around it. Bitcoin Well Infinite is their official partner for bitcoin acquisition and liquidity.
Worth a follow if your advisor still glazes over at “Bitcoin”
Not the first. Not much. Not yet.
Gold has been made from other elements before.
1. Berkeley turned bismuth into gold in 1980, and CERN's collider has turned lead into gold nuclei.
2. The startup, Marathon Fusion, says it beat CERN's record by 10x. CERN's record was about 29 picograms. Marathon hasn't published how much it made.
3. The "tons of gold" figure is a model for a fusion power plant that doesn't exist yet.
Gold's real supply valve was never alchemy. It's the price, and miners already answer to it.
JUST IN: US startup successfully produces the first ever gold grown in a laboratory
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Gold atoms have been produced in labs for decades via nuclear transmutation (e.g. Seaborg 1980s, CERN picograms); this unverified tiny-scale company claim from Oct 21 is not "first ever," not scalable production, and not "grown" like diamonds.

Brazil held an election Sunday. By Monday morning, every Brazilian saver had a new exchange rate, and none of them voted for it.
Lula won a comeback, 51.8% to 48.2%, and his supporters celebrated. Markets had bet on the other result.
The dollar went from R$4.99 on Friday to about R$5.60 Monday morning. The stock exchange halted trading for 30 minutes after the opening plunge.
Here’s what that looks like at the kitchen table. R$10,000 in savings bought about $2,000 on Friday. Today it buys about $1,790. Imported wheat, fertilizer, phones and flights abroad are all priced off the dollar, so they now cost more in reais. Paychecks didn’t go up to match.
And it didn’t matter how anyone voted. Winners and losers took the same hit.
That’s what it means for money to be political. Bitcoin’s supply schedule didn’t change Sunday night and it doesn’t change after any election, anywhere.
Getty Images filed for Chapter 11 this week. Under the plan, shareholders get nothing.
Its business was charging for copies of pictures, guarded by watermarks and lawsuits. Then AI made pictures cheap to make.
Scarcity enforced by a legal department lasts until copies get cheap.
Bitcoin's scarcity isn't enforced by a legal department. Making more of it is the one thing the network won't let anyone do.
getty images spent years watermarking every photo on the internet.
sued stability AI for training on their library. demanded the AI companies pay up. called it theft.
filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy this week.
the AI companies didn't pay. they just... kept going and designers stopped buying stock photos. and the $500 licensing fees stopped making sense when midjourney exists. and the debt piled up.
a company whose entire business model was "we own the visual record of human history, pay us" just got outrun by a model that learned from that record and started giving it away for free.
The irony is that the watermark is still on every image in the archive.
even the ones nobody's licensing anymore.
If you saw “Samsung is embracing bitcoin” this week, here’s what’s actually launching.
Starting this week, Samsung Wallet lets 82 million eligible U.S. Galaxy phones hold and send USDC. Not bitcoin.
From the partner’s own press release:
No private keys for you to manage. A licensed custodian holds it.
Every user is identity-screened.
Every transfer is monitored for sanctions exposure.
Fast digital dollars, with a gatekeeper on every transfer.
Bitcoin works without one.
Why is your most tax-advantaged account the one place your bitcoin can't live?
For most people, the long-term savings sit in an IRA and the bitcoin sits somewhere else.
A Bitcoin IRA puts them in the same place. Traditional or Roth. Real bitcoin, not an ETF, at its own on-chain address you can check from your dashboard.

Bitcoin is volatile and can lose value. Not tax advice.
Bitcoin is the closest thing yet to the experiment Hayek asked for, 50 years ago this month.
In October 1976, London's Institute of Economic Affairs published his Denationalisation of Money. The thesis fits in one line: "We have always had bad money because private enterprise was not permitted to give us a better one."
His fix was competition. Private banks issuing their own currencies, each kept honest by the fear of losing its customers.
Here's where bitcoin went one step further. It didn't win by finding a more trustworthy issuer. It removed the issuer. No bank to keep honest, no board voting on the supply, no one to lose their nerve.
Hayek's own words for the goal: "deprive governments of their power over the supply of money."
Fifty years later, there's a money nobody has that power over. Including us.
Right conclusion, better reason.
Nobody is turning mercury into gold at scale. That's a startup's proposal for fusion power plants that don't exist yet.
You don't need alchemy to make more gold. You need a higher price. When gold rises, miners dig deeper and reopen old pits.
When bitcoin rises, miners plug in more machines. Every 2,016 blocks the network raises the difficulty, and new coins keep coming out on schedule.
Same demand. One supply grows to meet it. The other doesn't move.
JUST IN: FORMER PAYPAL PRESIDENT JUST SAID EVERYONE SHOULD "BUY #BITCOIN" AFTER SCIENTISTS PROVED THEY CAN TURN MERCURY INTO REAL GOLD
ITS SCARCITY IS NO LONGER GUARANTEED
ONLY BTC HAS A FIXED SUPPLY 🔥
Traditional or Roth for a Bitcoin IRA? It comes down to which tax bill you'd rather face: the one now, or the one later.
Here's how each one works.

Over the Roth income limit? A tax professional can tell you whether a backdoor Roth applies to you.
We walked through how it works here:

Bitcoin solved a problem a Cambridge professor wrote down in 1996 but couldn't crack.
The late Ross Anderson was designing the Eternity Service: a way to store documents so that no court could make them disappear. He'd watched the Church of Scientology use court orders to raid a server in the US, raid an internet provider in Amsterdam, then go after an anonymous remailer in Finland to identify one of its users.
Scattering the files across countries was no problem, but paying the servers was the weak point, because payments run through banks.
In his words: "we do not want the opponent's lawyers enjoining the bankers." Then he asked what happens if "our bent judge orders all banks to delay payment."
The money part, he noted, did "not seem to have been tackled yet by digital cash researchers."
Twelve years later, a payment network arrived with no bank in the middle for a judge to call.
Your savings face the same question his servers did. Who can someone call to stop them?
"What's the biggest mistake people make with a 401(k) from an old job?"
"Leaving it there. Thanks, Captain Obvious, right?"
Obvious, and still everywhere. You start a new job, onboarding buries you in forms, and the old account just slips your mind. Every layoff list this year is also a list of 401(k)s about to be forgotten.
Rolling one into our Bitcoin IRA has no annual cap, and a person on our team handles the paperwork with you. Plan on two to three weeks for an employer plan.
