Andy has also confirmed that Neoxa Exchange has upgraded to this latest Knots release
The community has spoken. 180-day maturity, it is.
Milestone: This is the first version of Knots released by someone other than myself. Congrats @kwsantiago!

What's new:
- Nodes and miners should upgrade before block 979919
- As the community decided, mining rewards from that block until September 2027 take about 180 days to mature
- Spam filters catch more ways of hiding data in transactions
- Better peer discovery and Tor fixes

Replying to @GregTonoski
My guess is also upgrading their node to 29.4.3 maybe?
(Like you should Greg 😉)

Bitcoin chose money.
At block 961,640, Bitcoin (XBT) moved to BLAKE2b proof of work and stopped being a data dump.
XBT Miners is open: brand-new, sealed Goldshell and iBeLink BLAKE2b ASICs, paid in BTC over Lightning, shipped worldwide.

🚩xbtminers is likely a scammer
They claim 17 models of factory-sealed ASICs in stock on their website (many have not been manufactured since 2022), accept only irreversible BTC payments, and list a business address shared by many unrelated companies.
Buyer beware 🚩 🚩 🚩

Blockstream has a beautiful new office in Lugano, but oddly still can't seem to scrounge up a mere 600 BTC. It's quite likely they've borrowed against the Federation wallet to pay off some holders, so things may be even worse than this dashboard says
Tonight, beta testing of @ConnorsLabYT’s Paperclip hot wallet for XBT begins. Initial setup was intuitive with multiple option available to generate seed phrase entropy. I chose photo based entropy for my first round.

Watched the whole thing. There's a lot I could address, but I'll keep to the problem of CBME consensus.
I share and admire the conviction of the one-year camp, but when asked why six months wouldn't be enough to deter short-term hashers, I couldn't provide a compelling answer. Frankly, I still haven't heard one. The reason why is because there isn't enough data to effectively argue the case.
Meanwhile, I've heard credible concerns about the collateral damage a one-year CBM could cause to honest miners, while they would be okay with six months.
Our goal is to deter short-term hashers and encourage them to sell their rigs, not maximize punishment. More deterrence isn't necessarily better if it comes at a disproportionate cost to honest miners. There's a balance to strike, and based on the feedback I've heard, one year may overshoot it.
We can't know for certain whether six months is sufficient, but neither can we demonstrate that one year would produce meaningfully better outcomes.
Given that uncertainty, I can't justify insisting on one year at the expense of broader consensus when six months offers a reasonable chance of achieving our goals with less potential collateral damage.
We have many forks in the road ahead of us, and this is only one of many battles. We will have a chance to revisit it at the conclusion of RDTS, and this time we'll be armed with data.
I’m blown away with the features available in @ConnorsLabYT’s beta version on the Paperclip hot wallet for XBT. Updates are happening fast. Tomorrow,⚡️testing starts.
