Reason 3 to end factory farming: ~70% of antibiotics are given to farmed animals.
The more antibiotics used, the greater the risk that bacteria become resistant to them. When antibiotics stop working, infections become harder to treat, putting animal & human health at risk.
🐔 @wagamama_uk has broken its seven-year promise to stop serving #Frankenchickens.
Ironically, “wagamama” can mean “selfish” in Japanese.
Breaking a promise to give chickens better lives? Wagamama indeed. 🐔

KFC probably won’t advertise this. So we did. 👀
We took our message around Woking, home to KFC UK’s HQ, to expose the reality of fast-growing chickens and its broken welfare promise.

The most terrifying movie posters. 👻
BUT the real horrors aren’t in the movies. 🐷
Did you know many people don't realise hens naturally enjoy dust bathing, foraging and exploring? When animals can't perform their natural behaviours, they suffer.

Wagamama says it's “sustainable + ethical”.
But after seven years of promises, it's still serving #Frankenchickens.
A truly sustainable food system can't ignore animal welfare.

The EU's Vision 2040 featured low-trophic aquaculture & animal welfare.
But it still supports growth in carnivorous fish farming, fails to tackle reliance on wild-caught fish feed, & offers no commitment to welfare legislation for farmed aquatic animals.

“Lose soil and, sooner or later, you lose food.”
In his latest blog, our Global CEO @philip_ciwf explores why the UK's food system is more fragile than many people realise, and what needs to change 👇 bit.ly/4sm2DxV
Something that really sends us is how often compassion for animals gets framed as unrealistic when it should be the bare minimum.
🚨 Britain's abattoirs are disappearing.
If animals are farmed for food, they should be raised & slaughtered close to where they're born. But as local facilities close, animals can face longer journeys before slaughter.
