What if an H&E slide could tell us more about a patient’s risk of breast cancer recurrence? Artificial intelligence is opening that door.
New research from the ECOG-ACRIN Cancer Research Group and Caris Life Sciences provides evidence for the image + clinical AI approach that helped lay the scientific foundation for Caris MI Clarity™ in HR+/HER2− early-stage breast cancer.
In an independent TAILORx validation cohort, an AI model combining H&E-derived image features with clinical information strongly distinguished between patients at higher versus lower risk of early distant recurrence.
That image + clinical approach subsequently evolved into Caris MI Clarity, bringing AI-powered recurrence risk assessment into clinical practice.

Caris Detect is a blood test that looks for signs of early-stage cancer.
When cancer is growing in your body, it leaves tiny clues in your blood, and Caris Detect can find them. It can spot these clues even when the cancer is very small and just starting to grow and even more importantly, before it spreads. This is important because the earlier cancer is found, the better the chance of beating it.

Genomic testing changed early-stage #BreastCancer treatment, but why do some cancers still recur? This #BreastCancerAwarenessMonth, learn about EA1241, a study building on TAILORx and RxPONDER to help explain recurrence. #BCSM cc: @carisls, @SWOG bit.ly/EA1241
Caris Detect™ is the blood test designed to catch cancer in the early stages of the disease, including breast cancer before a physical exam may find it.
Caris Detect looks for tiny signals of all genetic material from cancer instead of just a limited portion of DNA to find cancer signals in early stage, when treatment is most effective.
55+ cancers. One blood draw.
Breast cancer included.
Know in early stage.

Could multimodal AI help identify which patients with early-stage HR+ breast cancer may benefit from extended endocrine therapy?
In an NSABP B-42 cohort, significant benefit was observed in about one-quarter of patients the models classified as both high risk for late distant recurrence and likely to benefit from extended therapy. #ESMOAI26.

Can AI help characterize capecitabine response in ER+ breast cancer? The Caris-led CapeAI study used clinico-genomic and next-generation sequencing (NGS) features to classify response to this common chemotherapy.
In an independent validation cohort, patients predicted to respond had longer progression-free survival; in a Caris cohort, predicted responders had longer time to next treatment and longer overall survival. #ESMOAI26
