So in what has clearly become the world’s largest Former democracy,
Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka are still in jail… for simply unfurling the 🇮🇳 in our national capital.
The regime surely has a problem with young Indians waving our national flag!
It’s absurd to even think that such a thing might happen in a free country!
Nonetheless, we will fight to reclaim our democracy from the regime.
We have approached the Delhi High Court and sought an urgent night hearing.
Saurav and Ashutosh must be released. Their liberty cannot be sacrificed at the altar of political vendetta.
Justice delayed is justice denied.
The Saurav and Ashutosh you want to scare will become the inspiration to the youth of this country.

I can understand the desperate motive to extend the custody of Ashutosh and Saurav. This is a dangerous virus being used on a daily basis to attack democracy. Stop torturing the boys and girls of Gen Z. Those in power today, will not be in power tomorrow. From Kolkata to Delhi to Mumbai - throughout the country, atrocities have reached unprecedented levels. When our forefathers stood up to colonial rulers, they too had to face atrocities and yet they fought with conviction and valor. Let me say it clearly: this is state-sponsored terrorism. These are police-sponsored atrocities. These cannot sustain for long. When people with conviction keep standing up strongly for the cause, to Save India, to Save Democracy- only then will these arrogant and blindfolded politicians in government open their eyes. By that time the people would have won, and the murderers of democracy will be finished.
If you believe in democracy, release Ashutosh and Saurav immediately.

CJP spokesperson’s @SauravDassss and @AshutoshRanka jailed for unfurling a tiranga our Indian National Flag shows how the Indian law is different for different people. So let’s not ever think that the law is equal for all. There is a precedent being set in India by making examples out of these two boys for mocking the government’s tactics to handle protests.

Do I agree with everything he says or does? Not at all, but I'd like to discuss the disagreements over coffee.
But he's much braver than me for doing what he's doing.
Thinking of @SauravDassss today. Always meets with a smile- has a cosy life in Delhi; could've been out doing pandal-hopping like the rest of us but is in jail today for putting skin the game. Don't care about the details of his politics at this point, he's braver than most here.

Two young men on their way to join a peaceful protest were arrested & have been in Tihar Central Jail for 5 days now.
This would be unbelievable even in the worst of democracies.
Why are we allowing this travesty? If you don’t speak up for them, there’s gonna be no one standing up for you tomorrow.
