Denny Hamlin enters Martinsville 73 points behind Kyle Larson, and even back-to-back wins at Martinsville and Homestead wouldn't guarantee him the championship, as NASCAR's projections give him just a 60% chance of taking the title under that scenario. Find out more on The Daily Downforce

Denny Hamlin believes Chase Elliott's decision to remove himself from the Most Popular Driver ballot says a lot about his character.
Hamlin initially questioned whether the award should be decided that way, saying he wished it would happen "more organically," but changed his perspective after learning that Elliott was following the example set by his father, Bill Elliott, when Dale Earnhardt died.
For Hamlin, the gesture ultimately reflects well on Chase, regardless of who wins the vote.
Denny Hamlin believes Chevrolet's manufacturer hierarchy leaves teams outside Hendrick Motorsports with little choice but to follow orders. Discussing Ross Chastain's role in helping Kyle Larson at Talladega, Hamlin described a chain of influence that runs from the driver to the crew chief, team, and Chevrolet, with Rick Hendrick ultimately holding the most power.
Hamlin argued that Hendrick's control over Chevrolet's technical resources makes it difficult for other Chevy teams to receive equal treatment, questioning whether any organization outside Hendrick will ever be considered tier one with the manufacturer.

Joey Logano wants NASCAR to find a way for cars to handle pushes better at superspeedways.
Following his flip at Talladega, Logano pointed to the pushing and bumping as the cause for most wrecks, saying the cars need to take pushes better. He believes the racing itself is already good enough without the wrecks, and questioned fans who cheer for drivers potentially getting hurt.

After watching Riley Herbst take two heavy hits, Hamlin said on Actions Detrimental that he couldn't imagine experiencing that kind of wreck himself, and if that was the case, his retirement would be "effective immediately"
Hamlin said he's tired of the ambiguity of the double-yellow line rule and would rather see it scrapped altogether than continue dealing with inconsistent calls.
Denny Hamlin questioned NASCAR's handling of the yellow-line rule after Talladega, pointing to multiple drivers who went below the line on the final lap without receiving penalties. Hamlin maintained that Kyle Larson wasn't one of them, pointing to Austin Hill and other drivers instead
Joey Logano praised Carson Hocevar’s pushes at Talladega, saying he was doing everything right before one push in the tri-oval sent him spinning. Logano added that one bad push is all it takes to cause a big wreck with this car.
