The #Deaflympics is over 100 years old - older than the @Paralympics. But there is no funding or talent pathways for elite deaf athletes.
£3 million could be game-changing for these athletes.
Today @CommonsCMS asked @deafsport why they weren't being treated equally.
We thank @cj_dinenage for using her question in Parliament yesterday to highlight the lack of funding for @DeaflympicsGB and our elite athletes.

Glad that @DCMS @lisanandy & @uk_sport are working to resolve the lack of access to public funds for elite deaf athletes.
#Deaflympics is older than the Paralympics but UK athletes like Henry Hughes and Nathan Young are not treated equally to @Olympics or @Paralympics peers.

2024, what a phenomenal year for deaf sport!
Deaf athletes from many sports represented Great Britian, England, Scotland, and Wales around the world this year.
Thank you every single one of you who train hard every day to represent our deaf community internationally.

We are thrilled to announce that GB Deaf Swimming Club are the winners of @Swim_England’s Inclusion Impact Award. This is a special award as we know without our club deaf children may not have the chance to train & compete with their deaf peers. Well done to all our volunteers
