Realistic plan of attack:
1. Sign Sonny Gray
2. Trade AJSS + Ritchie + Gil for Bibee and Kwan
3. Trade for Spencer Steer
4. Trade Murphy to whoever will take him and his money.
Oh I'd be very interested in taking a crack at Bryce Miller. It's a much different profile than we normally see Alex take, but there's big potential there
The Seattle Mariners exercise closer Andres Munoz's $9 million option, but decline the options of starter Bryce Miller and outfielder Victor Robles, making them free agents beginning Monday.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Despite having his option declined, Bryce Miller is only arbitration eligible and will not become a free agent until after the 2029 season.

Sometimes I forget Mariners fans are in the Pacific Northwest. Then I come across the quotes to a post like this and get reminded that these people are 3-ply soft.
"I think there's a little bit of DK Metcalf in Randy Arozarena"

Reminder that dudes worked a 9-5, then went and dominated a sport no one in this country knows or cares about. Wake me up when a team of software engineers rolls up and makes a WC quarter final.

Alex Anthopoulos did not know that Drake Baldwin was going to be what he has become when the trade was made. Sean Murphy was traded to Atlanta on December 12, 2022. Baldwin had been drafted six months earlier and hit .258 in his first pro action.
The trade was AWFUL and unnecessary because they should have believed EDDIE PEREZ instead of SAL FASANO. Perez contradicted Fasano and said Contreras would develop into a solid catcher. Alex went with Fasano's advice and was wrong.
Replying to @BillShanks
But the trade wasn't done in a vacuum. Baldwin was in the system and AA knew what we had.
There are things w/ AA that is rightfully to be angry about but moving Contreras to make room for Baldwin isn't one of them IMO.
I know a lot of people worked be nervous about his time with NYM, but i would rather give Peralta 4/84 (maybe 3/63 with an option) then Mahle. Then trade for Bibee and Kwan
Hey if you want to make it Meidroth, Montgomery, and David Sandlin I'll gladly listen to that.

All I know is that a team of software engineers and semi pro baseball players aren't making the playoffs, yet they qualified for the Super 8 in Cricket.
Watching the Brewers is amazing, but it also makes me a little sad because I want the Braves to be Mil with more money. And for a little while we were.
Murphy and a lower prospect for Keller and Henry Davis is the move. Davis does everything Murphy does, just way cheaper, and Keller isn't great, but the stuff is there. Maybe getting him with Hefner (and dropping 2-3 pitches) can get him to be that high 3's guy
Trade Proposal by Maria Aldrich on Heavy.com:
Braves Get: 3B Ryan McMahon
Yankees Get: C Sean Murphy
McMahon is owed $16M in 2027. Murphy has $15M the next two seasons with a $15M club option in 2029.
Ok, Ritchie + AJSS + Gil for Bibee and Kwan.
Steven Kwan will be entering the final year of his contract in 2027, and folks around the league are monitoring him as a potential trade candidate this winter. fansided.com/mlb/mlb-insider…
