Oksana Karpovych, the director of Intercepted, has created a moving and despairing work of art. A great movie.

Some of the greatest films operate from simple premises. Intercepted is a perfect example. The photography captures the physical destruction of a country, but the audio captures something deeper and more alarming -- the moral debasement of the aggressors.

Intercepted, the movie, combines the styles of some of my very favorite film directors. There's a little bit of Tarkovsky, a touch of Wiseman, a hint of Claude Lanzmann and so much more. It's dark, despairing, and endlessly realistic.

An exceptional new documentary. Intercepted. Part of what makes documentaries interesting is finding new ways to tell stories about the real world. The stillness of the imagery; the horror of the uninflected voiceover... Extraordinary and extraordinarily powerful.

Why is my movie not being shown on NBC prior to the election? It is not a partisan movie. It's about a policy that was disgusting and should not be allowed to happen again. Make your own inferences.

What is "Separated" about? Hell, if I know. But it might be about the evil of bureaucracies and self-deception. Thank God, it has its heroes.

Hannah Arendt, “The death of human empathy is one of the earliest and most telling signs of a culture about to fall into barbarism...” Thank you, Lena.

Silos everywhere. Take the Lincoln Project. Who are they talking to? Undecided voters in swing states.?Themselves? The internet has not just become a hall of senseless babble, it has become a one-way ticket to solipsism.

Schopenhauer cautioned us that logic is no way to win an argument. Ah so. He tells us to forget about logic and proceed directly to dialectic, providing 30+ ways to win an argument any way you can. "The Art of Being Right."

"X" has become an irony-free zone. Language without irony is not much better than a dog barking.

Twitter, "X, whatever it is, proves to me once again that almost every analogy is a false analogy.

Discussions of immigration have become a hotbed of lies -- on both sides. But the Republicans are worse, much worse. Demonizing immigrants and taking pride in doing so...

The NYT ran an article on Elon Musk's falsehoods. Tesla shareholders should be congratulated for giving Musk an extra $45 billion. Now, he can be amply rewarded for propagating untruth. 5 Days With Elon Musk on X: Deepfakes, Falsehoods and Lots of Memes nytimes.com/2024/09/27/techn…

Are people crazy? The issue is not between Republicans and Democrats. It is between truth and falsity. Many people think that good journalism is fairness to both sides. Not so. It's about the pursuit of truth.

I had serious reservations about using "X," despite loving Twitter. Why? The current owner is a repulsive human being.
