i don’t usually post my opinion on the trenches, i find it a waste of energy. but i’m tired of this launchpad merry-go-round
everyone complains that pumpfun extracts from the market with its fees and rewards extractive behaviour like callouts, vamps and the rest. fair, i agree it’s a net negative
but rotating to new launchpads is no better
the loop every couple of weeks:
→ we get sick of pumpfun
→ crown a new pad the saviour of the trenches
→ pvp it to death
→ forget it exists and crawl back to pump pairs
→ repeat
nothing changes long term. it’s stockholm syndrome with extra steps
float today is the perfect example. did 5m, then the second stonk added the same feature it was back at 2m
what’s the point of bidding a pad to 5m if any established pad can add same feature and we rotate? and what’s the point of complaining about extraction if we dont stick with the new pad and rotate?
the only exception all year has been stonkfun, and even that’s fading now the crime’s gone
whipped up some infographics with claude from my data. take them as directional, not exact. it’s hard to separate real launchpads from farms (i’m counting a launchpad as any custom config with 10+ tokens launched on it)
i don’t have a perfect answer, but constantly rotating pads and crawling back to pumpfun regardless isn’t it
either stick with pumpfun and accept the condition, fully adopt a new pad, or rotate primary chain
i believe the opening is there for a skilled team to build something that actually sticks if they can work with the community well, but we have to be open to it in order for adoption to occur
and with the rotating chain concept, it won't solve the problem permanently as everything will tend to the same state, but definitely will improve short term whilst we put pressure on pumpfun to introduce changes that incentivise us to return perhaps (?)
im not a trencher trencher, mainly just trade tech and afk, but as i said its annoying to see this stupid launchpad rotation occurring every other week so js thought id give my thoughts😊
