@SquawkCNBC anchor Becky Quick brought her Genie on air today...meet Becky Quick-er 👀
We believe every experience online will have an AI personality. Every website, app, person, brand, and creator.
Right now there is no visual layer. You're either talking to a chat-box or a voice icon..."staying there would be like if the radio never got television" (Akash Nigam, Genies CEO).
These personalities and platforms need a face.
Becky's Genie brings to life and highlights all of our technology, packaged up into a stylized 3D avatar with a personalized brain, voice, and real-time interactions. As a reporter, her Genie can extend her storylines, opinions, and connection with viewers and fans.
𝗪𝗲 𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗹𝗮𝘆𝗲𝗿 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮𝗻𝘆 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁. Whether you're a platform, personality, or IP owner, our tech stack enables you to bring Genies to life wherever you’re building.

CNN recently visited Genies HQ to get a behind-the-scenes look at how we're building the character layer for AI.
From creators, artists, and athletes to entertainment IP and platforms, we're building the tools to bring any AI personality to life as a Genie. These are fully customizable, real-time 3D characters that can talk, move, play, remember, and exist across apps, games, and digital experiences.
Big thanks to @CNN and Bijan Hosseini for helping tell our story, and to @Candace_Parker for joining in to create and debut her Genie for the first time.

A video of a character ≠ a character 👀
As AI personas start getting faces, there’s a big difference between generating a video of a character and building one that can persist, interact, and travel across experiences.
That’s what we’ve spent the last five years building at Genies. A real-time 3D character system that enables AI characters to talk, move, play, customize, and live across apps, games, and platforms.
Not AI video. The character layer for AI. ⚡️

Announcing our strategic partnership with @unitedtalent, making Genies’ AI character technology available to its roster of leading musicians, athletes, actors, comedians, and creators.
UTA is in the business of building what’s next in entertainment and culture, and that includes transformative technologies that create new opportunities for artists. As AI opens up entirely new ways for audiences to interact with talent, we’re giving talent a new digital asset they can own, control, and build businesses around.
Through Genies’ tools, talent can generate their own stylized AI characters, customize their appearance, voice, personality, and knowledge, and control how and where their characters are used.
And the utility goes way beyond conversation. Imagine:
🎵 An artist can use their Genie as an always-on fan hub to launch an album, share exclusive content, or connect with fans around the world in their own languages.
🏀 An athlete might use theirs to break down game stats, coach young players, or even teach something like math through sports.
🎮 And these characters can live across all kinds of platforms. Talent can commercialize this new asset in so many ways, whether that’s licensing it into video games, bringing it into their own apps, or building entirely new interactive experiences around it.
It’s a new way for talent to expand audience relationships, grow their IP, and unlock commercial opportunities, all on their own terms.
UTA is the first talent agency to offer this opportunity to its clients 🤝

With the launch of Muse and Dots, Meta and OpenAI just showed us what the next interface for AI is going to look like.
Five years ago, we made a simple bet at Genies:
1. Every app, game, website, brand, person....everything and everyone...was eventually going to have an AI personality.
2. Those AI personalities would need a face.
Muse and Dots are showing why putting a character at the center of AI can unlock a ton of value:
🤝 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: A face, voice, and real-time reactions humanize AI and deepen the relationship with the user.
🥳 𝐅𝐮𝐧: It shifts the experience from prompting to playing. Think AI assistant meets Tamagotchi.
📈 𝐀𝐝𝐨𝐩𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: The character itself can become the brand. Recognizable, shareable, and culturally relevant.
𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐭’𝐬 𝐰𝐡𝐲 𝐰𝐞 𝐛𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐆𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐒𝐃𝐊 𝐭𝐨 𝐩𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐢𝐧𝐟𝐫𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐥𝐚𝐲𝐞𝐫 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐀𝐈.
Our real-time character system is built to be lightweight, customizable, scalable, and utility driven. Because of this approach, this unlocks:
𝟏. 𝐋𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫 𝐜𝐨𝐬𝐭 + 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐬𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐞: A character rig system uses less compute than video-based solutions, which means lower costs and greater scalability.
𝟐. 𝐌𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲: Native 3D characters that can actually do things in real time, just like a video game.
𝟑. 𝐁𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐭-𝐢𝐧 𝐠𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: Progression, rewards, unlockables, and Tamagotchi-style mechanics are all possible. Game mechanics around your AI characters will be the future.
𝟒. 𝐀𝐧𝐲 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐞𝐫, 𝐚𝐧𝐲 𝐬𝐭𝐲𝐥𝐞: Create any human character today, in the future you’ll be able to create any character, any style too.
𝟓. 𝐋𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐲𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞: Lightweight and platform-agnostic across apps, games and websites.
𝟔. 𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐳𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: Customize the voice, behavior, personality, appearance, and overall experience.
If you want to bring a character to life on your platform, we’d love to build with you: genies.com

Genie Use Case #43:

With our avatar creation tools, years of interviews, expertise, opinions, and POV can be transformed into an interactive character people can talk to.
Our technology packages that knowledge into a stylized, 3D Genie that responds in real time…giving anyone access to the expert beyond the broadcast, on the topics they care about most.
Every app, game, brand, and platform is going to have an AI personality.
Generative video AI avatars can be great for content and demos. But once you want that character to actually interact, respond, and do things in real time, you need a different infrastructure.
That’s why we bet on a character rig avatar system built for interaction, scale, and an entirely new layer of utility.

Genies AI avatars are 𝒔𝒕𝒚𝒍𝒊𝒛𝒆𝒅 by design.
Our tech brings AI to life as expressive, customizable characters.
These aren’t deepfakes, and they aren’t meant to replace the real person or IP.
They’re an extension of the real person or IP...giving fans new ways to explore deeper storylines, perspectives and unique 1:1 interactions.

"Becky Quick-er" shows our entire tech stack in action:
1️⃣ Our self-serve creation tools auto-generated Becky's Genie into a real-time 3D character from photos, then built her brain, behavior and voice from videos and transcripts. These tools will be available before end of Q3 where anyone will be able to build their own Genie in minutes.
2️⃣ Leveraging our native SDK, the embodied character can then run performantly and cost-effectively on any platform. Our tech stack enables you to bring Genies to life and integrate seamlessly wherever you’re building. Whether you’re a platform or IP owner, we’d love to hear how Genies can power your product.
We believe the consumer interface of the new internet will be AI personalities. Genies is building the visual layer that powers them.

Agents and companions are meant to hold long-term relationships that evolve with you as your interests, curiosities, and experiences change.
It's key to the brain and memory systems behind our avatars at Genies.
And it turns out to be one of the hardest problems to tackle in AI.
Inspired by this problem we're tackling, our team built Memora: a benchmark that measures how AI agents remember, update, and forget across weeks and months. The way real relationships actually work.
𝐎𝐮𝐫 𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐦 𝐩𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐡𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝐨𝐧 𝐌𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐚 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐰𝐞’𝐫𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐩𝐚𝐩𝐞𝐫 𝐡𝐚𝐬 𝐛𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐚𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐀𝐂𝐋 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 @aclmeeting 🎉
Long-term memory is central to how personalized agents are created, and the way we measure it will shape what’s possible to build.
Check out our recent blog for a deeper dive into our team’s findings 👇 genies.com/blog/when-memory-…
Fans are the most valuable audience in entertainment.
But every time an artist posts, they're broadcasting the same exact thing to millions. No one gets personalized treatment (unless you're one of the .01% who gets a comment reply or a DM back).
We believe AI avatars can help talent go from broadcasting to 1:1 relationships without sacrificing time or quality.
We’re building this future of fandom alongside our partners. 5 announced so far, 5 more on the way.

Every website, app, game, brand, and human is going to have an AI persona.
Whether you’re building an agent, an assistant, a companion, or an NPC, every platform that wants to hold attention and build relationships with its users will need one.
A lot of people are building these rn through generative video. It’s fast to set up and it can look great for social content or a demo.
But video doesn’t make a ton of sense once you get past the demo stage. The avatar can't hold a real-time synchronous conversation, it costs more the more people use it, and character consistency is a legit problem.
So we made a different bet five years ago to go all in on a real-time character rig system.
We've already partnered with MLB Players, NBA Players, Kodansha's King Records, Sanrio, and Webtoon to bring some of the biggest IP in the world to life as Genies. If you're looking to bring AI avatars to your own platform let’s chat.

our latest blog breaks down the tradeoffs between a rig vs video avatar system: genies.com/blog/real-time-ch…
As the NBA season came to an end this weekend, the streets of NYC lit up with millions of diehard Knicks fans.
And although nothing can replace that feeling of being surrounded by fellow crazed fans, what happens now that the season is over?
What if you could keep engaging with your favorite players any time you wanted? You could form a unique 1:1 relationship with them through their avatar?
That’s what we’re working on. A way to reshape how fans interact with their favorite athletes, celebrities, and IP characters...to extend the relationship beyond just the streets, the bar, the arena, or the feed.
@adage featured Genies in a write-up on how AI and data are enhancing the player <> fan relationship across sports.
