🇺🇸 This is great news from Texas! and; It's beyond time there was quality medical and psychological support for detranstioner's across the USA and beyond... "This clinic provides detransition-related medical care for patients through age 21 along with detransition-related obstetric and gynecologic care for patients older than 21" texaschildrens.org/departmen…
🚨Today, Texas Children’s Hospital has officially launched their Detransition Clinic 🚨 Under the settlement, TCH must provide multidisciplinary detransition-related care FREE OF CHARGE for five years, including endocrinology, surgery, primary care, fertility counseling, mental health services, social work, and speech pathology. I extend my heartfelt gratitude once again to Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton and my attorneys at the Burke Law Group for their extraordinary dedication, sacrifice, and tireless efforts throughout this fight. Their commitment helped turn a painful and difficult chapter into an opportunity for meaningful change. @KenPaxtonTX @BurkeLawTweets I think of all the detransitioners who have suffered in silence, been dismissed, and fought desperately to have their voices heard. This win is for them. I hope TCH’s admirable effort to fund and launch Americas first detransition clinic becomes a turning point for the entire country. That this clinic is not the exception, but the first of many. Today’s a good day. ❤️ Link⬇️

🇬🇧 Peter Jenkins argues that the latest guidance from Britain’s main therapy association @BACP gives greater prominence to trans issues while removing a substantial section on therapeutic issues affecting lesbian, gay and bisexual clients. A proposed ban on “conversion practices” adds worrying complexity. A look at the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy’s guidance on gender, sexuality and relationships. genspect.org/britains-main-t…

🇦🇺 Doctors can face disciplinary action over alleged misinformation about gender medicine. But which clinical guidelines does Ahpra use to judge their statements? Bernard Lane reports that Ahpra’s chief executive told Senate Estimates the regulator relies on “existing clinical guidelines”, yet Ahpra refused his request to name them. His investigation raises serious questions about transparency, impartiality and doctors’ freedom to discuss treatment risks. Patients deserve a regulator that openly explains the evidence and standards behind its decisions. genderclinicnews.com/p/big-s…

🇬🇧 "When Dr Sarah Redvers received an email in July 2020 seeking advice on a vulnerable young patient, she could never have anticipated what the next six years would have in store. Redvers believes she was forced out of her job after formally raising clinical and safeguarding concerns about Brighton-based doctor and trans campaigner Dr Sam Hall..." Hospital insiders have disputed the Tasmanian Health Minister’s claim that gender surgery at Royal Hobart is not affecting essential and emergency care, warning resources are being diverted from a critical public waiting list."

Narcissistic Enticement? Projection replacing empathy? "The “Gender Affirming” approach is not scientific. It is self-indulgent. It is a scandal, a vehicle for disordered individuals to impose their dysfunction on others" An Australian mums story @pittparents pittparents.com/p/narcissist…

🇦🇺 Double time for nurses supporting private gender surgery, while nurses assisting with emergency surgery receive time and a half? The Australian reports that Royal Hobart Hospital is offering these different Saturday rates while just 56% of Tasmania’s public elective surgery patients receive surgery within clinically recommended times. The government says public surgical capacity will not be reduced. Hospital insiders dispute this. Tasmanians deserve transparent answers about staffing, costs and how access to timely public care will be protected. ow.ly/bzLl5100MLu

'This latest tendency to treat neutrality as the highest expression of therapeutic sophistication is dubious at best, cowardly at worst. In this context, the therapist becomes an agreeable companion, carefully avoiding any judgment that might influence the patient’s choices. Therapists don’t need to act like a support dog for the patient; we offer a valuable, ethical and worthwhile therapeutic process and this is sufficient.'
