My son is selling prints of a piece he drew on day 5 of his 30 day rehab, called "Vase." An addiction demon grips the vase. but look again, without the crutch of the vase, the demon falls. He's raising funds to cover his recovery costs and his first year of college at LCAD.

Water No. 75 Oil on Canvas. 54” x 60” Available. DM to acquire. Painting the sky and ocean all of the years continues to teach me and hold me through the voyage of life. The sky is 3 in Water No. 75 has three sections - representing the cycle of relationship. The top triangle section - the beginning, full of hope and energy. The sky is actually a bit violet and purple - violet symbolizes mystery and imagination., The middle is the meat of the relationship - full of light and dark moments, softness and intense clouds, this is the place many get lost and don’t find a way through. The crimson mark on the middle left represents the deepening of passion and love but also the wounds that get exposed when you’re in a powerful and commanding relationship. Then the stripe of dark blue above the water, the storm has passed and we settle into the night sky as the relationship sunsets signaling the end. However there is always a glimmer of light and the promise of a new day on the horizon. The ocean is subtle created with purple and yellow - imagine those colors as two souls - two complimentary colors that vibrate with energy when placed next to each other creating a subtle movement of the water, holding the reflection of the sky I didn’t set out to paint this with this type of organization or thinking, I created what I felt and the ennoble later upon reflection assigned meaning. Even the relationships that last a lifetime follow this cycle a million times over as people grow and change. Im curious what you felt with this work? What reflection did you have?
