ALT Celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ, Christians around the world rejoice in the profound message of hope and redemption that Christmas brings, and are united in gratitude for the gift of God’s love. Christmas is also celebrated by many Manitobans of different backgrounds, joining millions of people around the world in so many wonderful festivities that bring us together. Most of all, Christmas reminds us about the joy of giving. Giving is a hallmark of the season inspired by the compassion that Christ has shown humankind. Let us support and uplift one another, especially those facing challenges during this time, and offer a lending hand to those less fortunate during and beyond the holidays. I’d also like to thank those on the front lines who have to spend this time away from family or on-call so that their fellow Manitobans can enjoy the holidays. We wish all Manitobans a very merry Christmas, a safe and happy holiday, and the very best in the new year.
