In all the years I have been working in data and data visualization... this is the first time my boys thought what I did was cool... They watched me create this viz and were so excited to see it come together. It started with a bunch of mixed up circles but slowly became something they recognized. Haha. Mic drop, my 9 year olds think I am cool in this moment, totally worth it. I said before, I never played with polygons in @tableau, crossing that off the list now. I may have missed Tableau Conference last week, but what Tableau has taught me continues to shape how I serve every day. I’m incredibly grateful to have experienced what “good” looks like — from both a team and tool perspective. The standards around collaboration, enablement, design, and community continue to influence how I approach new tools, new challenges, and new opportunities to create value. More than anything, Tableau taught me the importance of understanding the why — the purpose behind the request, the stakeholder need, and the problem we are actually trying to solve.
