I want to congratulate His Majesty William Gabula Nadiope IV, Kyabazinga, on the birth of his third son. May God continue to bless you.
I consider Hon.Musa Ecweru a fearless man and hero. I have always admired him. Ever since 2003. We shall reward him.
I have warned politicians in the past from even thinking of interfering in military/security matters. First of all, it will have absolutely no effect. None. Secondly, it will bring catastrophic problems on those politicians themselves.

Museveni Made No Safety Deal With Elwelu - UPDF kampalapost.com/news/2026/11…

Misinformation alert:
“Deal That Saw Elwelu Surrender: Museveni Assured Him of Personal Safety,” New Vision, Thursday, November 5, 2026.
First, it is misleading to suggest that Peter Elwelu surrendered out of his own volition. This is NOT true. He (Elwelu) gave himself up peacefully because the security forces had closed in on him, there were no viable alternative courses of action at his disposal.
Secondly, at no point did the President and the Commander-In-Chief, General Yoweri Kaguta Museveni offer Elwelu “assurances for his personal safety.”
The President of Uganda has full confidence in the judgment and actions of the security forces to take all necessary measures, proactively or otherwise, to maintain peace, order, and stability in the country. The President is also a strong proponent for unwavering discipline at all times by members of the security forces including those serving under the Reserve Force.
Therefore, it should be clear that those who break the laws of Uganda shall be held to account without fear or favour. Accordingly, Peter Elwelu will be held fully accountable for his actions in the UPDF General Court Martial.

The General Court Martial in Makindye has sentenced two former Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) members, Hamza Lyavaala and Adil Walusansa, to death for the murder of two women in staged bomb incidents linked to the 2025 Martyrs Day celebrations.
The court, presided over by Brigadier General Richard Tukacungurwa, ruled that the murders were premeditated and involved the deliberate recruitment and exploitation of vulnerable women who were given explosive devices to carry out purported suicide missions.
Prosecution evidence showed that the first victim, Byaruhanga Sumayiya, was transported from Busoga and given an explosive device strapped to her body. She died on June 3, 2025, when it exploded at Munyonyo Martyrs Shrine during the annual celebrations.
The second victim, Sawiya Azuta, was recruited for another operation but was intercepted by Joint Anti-Terrorism Taskforce (JATT) operatives at Kalerwe on June 21, 2025, and subsequently died during the incident.
In his sentencing remarks, Brigadier Tukacungurwa said the crimes involved careful planning and had caused immense suffering, while throwing the public into panic and fear.
The defence lawyers asked for lighter sentences, citing the convicts' guilty pleas, remorse and previous involvement in counter-terrorism operations. They also presented their family circumstances, noting that Lyavaala has six children while Walusansa has seven.
However, the court ruled that the aggravating circumstances outweighed the mitigating factors and imposed the death sentence on both men. They were also informed of their right to appeal.
The two were jointly charged with Lieutenant Colonel Ephraim Byaruhanga, a former commander of special operations in the Chieftaincy of Military Intelligence. Byaruhanga remains a co-accused and is expected to face trial separately.

Teso leaders should not politicize the arrest of Peter Elweru. He is not the first general to be arrested. Kaziini, Tumukunde, Kayihura, Birungi, Nabaasa, Namanya, Ssejjusa and others were all arrested and their regions didn’t throw tantrums or play sectarian cards. Inciting the public won’t help unless some people know more than they are telling us and are covering up.
