Behind these numbers are tens of thousands of women living with incurable cancer, which we know can impact every part of your life - not just your physical and mental health, but your job, finances, and relationships with friends and family. Understanding the true number of people affected by metastatic breast cancer will help to ensure that they can access the support and treatment they need, wherever they live. ā€œBreast cancer study shows true scale of the disease in Englandā€ - Read more in @DailyMirror mirror.co.uk/news/breast-can…

People waiting for cancer treatment aren’t just a number on a waiting list. Delays can mean more uncertainty, anxiety and, in some cases, fewer treatment options. We need urgent action to improve the whole cancer experience, so people get the care and support they need, when they need it. Read more from BBC News šŸ‘‡ bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c93v…

With sunny spells set to stay, we’ve put together some essentials for enjoying the sunlight safely and responsibly. šŸ˜Ž Please remember to protect your skin from too much sunlight. You may need to be extra careful in the sun after cancer treatment, which can make your skin more sensitive, or prone to burning more easily. Find out more here: macmillan.org.uk/cancer-info…

It has been a privilege to work with @AshleyDalton_MP. She brought an invaluable depth of lived experience that helped ensure the realities of people living with cancer are reflected at the heart of the National Cancer Plan for England. Sending our best wishes ahead of treatment.
I have taken the decision to step down from my ministerial responsibilities to allow me to focus on my job representing you, the people of West Lancashire, while I continue to receive oral chemotherapy treatment. My letter to the PM below šŸ‘‡

This morning on @BBCBreakfast, Macmillan's Chief Partnerships Officer, Steven McIntosh, spoke about the new National Cancer Plan for England. Almost 3.5m people are living with cancer in the UK, and someone is diagnosed every 75 seconds. Yet too many still aren’t getting the care they need, often depending on who they are or where they live. The Plan has the right ambition. Now we need to see it deliver with the NHS, charities, communities working together, with Macmillan ready to play its part. It’s not just about living longer, it’s about living well.

This #WorldCancerDay, @wesstreeting and the @DHSCgovuk launched a new National Cancer Plan for England. Now that someone is diagnosed with cancer at least every 75 seconds around the UK, this marks a major opportunity to improve lives and transform cancer care over the next decade. gov.uk/government/publicatio…

We’re committed to making cancer care the best it can be for everyone, no matter who they are or where they live. We worked closely with communities and partners across England to ensure that it focused on improving patients’ experiences, and addresses the unacceptable inequalities in cancer care. We’re now ready to play our part in making the ambitions of this plan a reality for everyone. macmillan.org.uk/about-us/la…
