GM with GILFvision Glitches I’d Like Financed A few early works—already shown at Miami Art Week. What the face conceals, the glitch reveals. Glitch art, when I make it, reveals the inner emotion of my subjects—singing out in color the expressions words won’t come to say.

📖 Storytime. I had a conversation with a person who decades earlier, when I was young and vulnerable, had been needlessly unkind. I remember the day because it was traumatic for other reasons (and was surprised he brought it up during our first private in-person conversation in literally decades). I listened as he outlined the horrible day he'd had before meeting up with me that afternoon. But the surprise for me came when—as he retold the mean part of the story—he began smiling, like the miserable bully he still is today. The one element of the story that was outstanding to me is that he admitted he really got off on ignoring me—literally not acknowledging my presence. He said, “I just kept ignoring you and kept ignoring you anytime you spoke to me and”—he laughed—“eventually you stopped talking.” I let that land a good long time. Then… I told him, “I didn’t stop talking. I only stopped talking to you.” The. Look. On. His. Face. It became clear to me: All these years, he’d taken pride in thinking he’d turned an optimistic extrovert into a silent introvert when I only had stopped speaking to him anytime I saw him. Look at him thinking his transitory, puny, dry engagement was my whole life. 🤡 ** in my best Wendy Williams voice ** “Listen......” Don’t let the ignorant, tasteless haters silence you. Don’t let ostensible exclusion make you sit alone with your feelings. Even though it hurts or makes you feel peevish—put the non-engagement out of your mind—just get busy creating the beacon to magnetize your actual high-vibing people. Money we earn by monetizing what we love—sales earned in privacy—are more likely than any uplift from buyers who refuse to look in our direction until we have the mark of their beast. Let it be ‘all good’ frfr. We don’t need the attention of every person buying art to achieve nirvana. We only want the attention of the people who appreciate what we do to achieve nirvana—and that’s only the sauce because it energizes us towards wherever we are going. It’s not the meal: sauce. See…? No misanthropic poser(s) can stop your success by ignoring you. You didn’t beat out all those other literally millions of sperm to get out here and be thwarted by ANYONE ignoring you. A non-engagement is like an unformed planet—it’s still evolving. Some people (like that jerk I mentioned earlier) take years to masticate—and even when they do, they’re not always worthwhile. Some apologies will come too late to do much good, a few apologies will never be enough, and others (however owed) will never arrive. Some of us are flexible enough yet to still grow and acknowledge our missteps with grace and in good humor. But I see some of this circus is comprised of clowns who would rather eat dusty clown ass than admit they made a mistake or that they were victimized, and they never develop that strength to admit “Arrrgh, they got me!” or “Doh! I really f’d that up. Sorry!” As simple as it could be, instead they hate on you and develop amnesia because it’s easier than doing the work on themselves they need to do to see you as you are. They’ll never give you a shot, and you’ll NEVER earn their respect because they don’t have the depth. Just imagine all these years… if I’d changed my outgoing attitude because one guy (and we still don’t know the reason why) picked on me and wanted me to feel stupid… A miserable old frat boy would have cockblocked from you all: my alacrity, my good-natured humor, my love, my open smile—my willingness to join forces, my willingness to be of use, to be truly myself—to be seen. And the world would have lost an artist and all this art.
