Thank you to everyone who came along tonight to cheer me on as I take up the role of Lord Mayor of Belfast.
I am honestly so honoured to have been given this opportunity to represent our great city. I won’t let you down.

In 2022, fewer than 1% of first preference votes separated Alliance and the final seat in East Londonderry.
Together, let’s build a positive, progressive, shared future.
Vote Richard Brown-Stewart and elect East Derry’s first cross-community Alliance MLA.

During the Westminster election, I made it clear Pat Cullen would spend little time in FST if elected. In the last 2yrs, we've seen that. Now, her true intentions are clear. FST was a stepping stone & we as constituents have suffered as a result. SF have taken voters for granted
Running both Pat Cullen & Deirdre Hargey in South Belfast & Mid Down is a big, bold move by Sinn Fein. Alliance's second seat is now very vulnerable, & this could also mean SF will run against SDLP leader Claire Hanna in the next Westminster election. belfasttelegraph.co.uk/news/…

Alliance won't accept another decade of health service decline.
In 2016, Professor Bengoa gave us a blueprint to fix our health service. In 2026 things have only gotten worse.
That's why we've written to party leaders to sign a cross-party compact on health transformation.

🚍Public transport is not a luxury. It’s a lifeline.
NI spends less than half of the UK average on public transport. We can’t afford another cut to funding.
The Minister needs to recognise accessible public transport leads to a greener, better-connected society.

Short term I’m trying to get them an extension to their lease, while exploring a longer term solution.

Certain political parties are playing games to try and destabilise our institutions and destabilise the peace process.
We cannot let this happen.
We must continue to move forward together and not allow 28 years of peace and progress to be disrupted.

A socially liberal, progressive party voting more often with other progressive parties than with conservative and right-wing parties.
Shock horror.
The votes were on conversion therapy, housing, regulation of flags and emblems, and the future of our environment.
Take off the orange and green goggles for a second, Paul. It’s tedious.
You must have forgotten the SDLP walking out of the Council chamber in Belfast…
Slightly hypocritical when the SDLP Cllrs on Belfast City Council have walked out of the Council chamber a number of times, sometimes in protest and sometimes to be strategically absent from a vote.

In the constant stream of Drumcree media, my mind keeps returning to the precious Quinn children. So much at stake right now, too big to be politicised & too awful to go back to. Whatever comes next must be built around the future we want for all our kids.
The past couple of days have been difficult for the Garvaghy Road community.
This could have been avoided, but reopened wounds take longer to heal, and so much trust has been lost.
We’re much further divided than we were last week.

.@AndyofAlliance is proud to call South Down his home💛
In 2022, you made history by electing the first cross-community Alliance MLA in the constituency.
Next May, we have the chance to do it again - choose hope over fear and lets build a shared future for everyone.
