New 'Kamalexa' Amazon Echo Rambles And Never Answers Your Questions
Introducing Kamalexa: the edition of the Amazon Echo that can listen to your questions about the economy, the cloud, and traffic - and then ramble incoherently and never get around to answering.
This is definitely a turning point. To the extent that sentiment is important, then there will be a significant improvement in multiple fronts : economic, foreign policy, etc ….

The world has gone insane. I'm hoping the real issue here is not antisemitism and it's not anti-Zionism. I'm hoping the real issue is people being committed in a very passionate way to a cause that, I'm just guessing here, they have not studied deeply. I get not liking Israel. I get feeling solidarity with the Palestinian cause. But this video and the smug dismissal remind me of people who chant "from the river to the sea" without knowing the river or the sea being discussed and the implications. If you're going to stop someone from using the bathroom or if you're going to march alongside people with say, ISIS flags, you should know what you're committing to. I'm hoping they just don't realize that it's a little bit more complicated than they think. It's the Yeatsian passionate intensity that makes me the most nervous. An unwillingness to imagine that there is another side or an unwillingness to learn about it. Strong position strongly held makes for a tough life when everyone feels that way.
If I'm right, how do we understand it? Is this the result of social media ratcheting up outrage. It feels profoundly unhealthy for a democracy.

It's not the generosity of the welfare state that counts. Many there are generous. It is the willingness of the country to tackle disincentives that generosity creates. Nordic countries are pretty level headed about countering disincentives, in ways unthinkable in US so far.

Today is a very, very sad day. My colleague Ed Prescott died this morning.
Needless to say, he was one of the great minds of modern economics. Ed influenced many of us in multiple ways. He will be missed greatly.

Investigate away, sure. But my prediction is that the voter fraud accusations will be the rightwing version of Trump/Russia collusion. Lots of things that look like smoke but end up showing nothing substantial. And yet people will go on about it for years.

Another thoughtful conversation with Coleman.
Coleman is a unique and independent thinker. His ideas are worth listening to and considering in the larger scope of the current issues.
