Five Palestine solidarity activists are facing trial in Germany following an action at an Israeli arms manufacturer's facility in September 2025. The activists, known as the Ulm Five, allegedly entered an Elbit Systems site in Ulm, southwest Germany, where they damaged equipment and spray-painted the building. The incident reportedly caused around €1 million in damage. No one was injured, and the five activists remained at the site to await arrest. More than a year later, all five remain in pre-trial detention as proceedings continue. The trial, which began in April, has faced a series of legal challenges, including allegations of judicial bias and disputes over expert witnesses. The prosecution has charged the defendants with criminal damage, trespass and membership of a criminal organisation. Prosecutors also argue that the action was motivated by antisemitism, while the defence maintains that it was intended to prevent a greater crime, pointing to Elbit Systems' involvement in Israel's military operations in Gaza. The 2026 US midterms have delivered a major setback for Donald Trump, with Democrats making significant gains and taking control of Congress. The results reflect voter dissatisfaction with the administration, particularly over the Iran war, cost of living, and America’s relationship with Israel. * Abdul Al Sayed has been voted in as the first ever Muslim senator, following an ugly election campaign that has seen him racially vilified and attacked. * Aber Kawas became the first Palestinian-American and first Muslim woman elected to the New York State Legislature. * Adam Hamawy, a Muslim American physician who volunteered in Gaza, has also been elected to represent New Jersey’s 12th Congressional District. * Others like Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib were also re-elected. Taken together, these results mark an important moment in American politics. They signal a shift in the balance of power in Washington and demonstrate the growing visibility and political influence of voices advocating for Palestinian rights and greater accountability in US foreign policy. @kieran_andrieu | @LSpeitan | @HalaHanina | @AlnaouqA

Francesca Albanese, UN Special Rapporteur on the occupied Palestinian territories, and Eyal Weizman, founder of Forensic Architecture, join Palestine Deep Dive’s Ahmed Alnaouq and Jehan Alfarra to examine the destruction of Gaza, the silencing of Palestinian journalists, and the growing struggle to hold those responsible to account. The conversation also tackles the International Court of Justice (ICJ), the International Criminal Court (ICC), US sanctions against international justice officials, arms transfers, and the responsibilities of governments under international law and the Genocide Convention. @FranceskAlbs | @weizman_eyal | @AlnaouqA | @j_alfarra

"And If Sydney Sweeney Converts to Judaism?" The Green Party of England and Wales voted to adopt a motion declaring Zionism a form of racism and calling for Palestinian liberation and a single democratic state with justice and equality for all. It is the first mainstream UK party to take that position. But in almost all of the coverage that followed, one group has been strikingly absent from the conversation: Palestinians. At Palestine Deep Dive, we host a roundtable of Palestinians to discuss the ideology that has shaped every part of their lives. We ask: What is Zionism? And why do we believe it to be racist? Ahmed Alnaouq speaks to Hala Hanina, Shahd Hammouri and Hazem Jamjoum in a wide-ranging conversation about the history, ideology and politics surrounding Palestine; from the Balfour Declaration to Gaza and from Christian Zionism to British politics. @fightapartheid | Shahd Hammouri | @HalaHanina | @AlnaouqA
