NPC Management Reviews Draft 2026–2031 Strategic Plan
Management of the National Peace Council (NPC) has begun reviewing its draft 2026–2031 Strategic Plan following the presentation of a preliminary report by the plan’s lead facilitator, Mr. Justice Agbezuge, as part of efforts to strengthen the Council’s strategic direction and institutional effectiveness.
The presentation outlined the proposed strategic priorities for Management’s consideration and feedback. The Executive Secretary, Dr. George Amoh, expressed appreciation to the Facilitator for his dedication and the detailed work done.
Management’s feedback will inform further refinement of the draft plan ahead of its finalisation, providing a framework to guide the Council’s programmes, resource allocation and institutional performance in advancing peacebuilding and conflict prevention in Ghana.
"Leadership is learned." NPC Executive Secretary urges parties to invest in the next generation
The Executive Secretary of @PeaceCouncilGH, at an ACEPA workshop on Political Inclusion and Consensus Building made a presentation on "Mentorship and Coaching for Effective Party Leadership"
Speaking on the theme, Dr. Amoh explained that mentorship is a long-term relationship in which an experienced leader guides a younger one. Coaching is shorter and focused on building specific skills. Strong parties, he said, need both.
He told party leaders that:
🔹 Mentoring passes on wisdom, and coaching builds capability. Strong parties need both.
🔹 Prepared successors make transitions predictable and less personal.
🔹 Followers copy what leaders do, so restraint is taught by example.
🔹 Women, youth and persons with disabilities rarely rise by chance. They need sponsors.
🔹 Internal party tensions spill into the public square, so party conflict is national conflict.
The peace we enjoy was inherited. A mentor is someone who hands it on to the next generation.
