The most interesting part about Japanese getting upset over a mod reviving Tekken 6's online is not it's a 2007 game. It's that Japan makes up just 3% of Tekken's audience, but say to leave the brand alone. Without international players, this franchise would already be long DEAD.

The popularity of major Fighting Game titles in Asia is about the same and not much different. However, in terms of the share of TEKKEN alone, Japan 3%, and even if Asia is included, it does not reach 10%. 50% is Europe, 35-7% is North America, and the rest is another region.
