To the fine folk at the Harrogate Crime Festival today, I'm sorry I can't be with you, but I have left some money behind the bar for you all to enjoy a drink on me. Just use the password 'BRASS MONKEY' in honour of Steve's favourite pub in the 'We Solve Murders' books. Have fun! @HarrogateFest
This would be the England line-up for the semi-final if the team selection had to rhyme.
The keeper? That's Jordan,
There's Anthony Gordon
Then Bellingham, Anderson, Konza.
Guehi and Saka,
Harry Kane as attacker,
Leaving Rice and O'Reilly and Quansah.
England is the only country to ever win the men's World Cup that doesn't share a land border with another country that has won a men's World Cup. Norway and Morocco are the only teams left which could join that list this year.
Well I learned something about the Morocco/Spain land border today, thanks fellow (better-informed) geeks!
No idea where this news has come from today, we stopped making this show in 2022!
NEW: #Pointless Celebrities shelved by the BBC, with the broadcaster confirming there's no plans for more episodes. The daytime edition of the show will continue. More details:

Your reminder that if West Ham are relegated today, then next season will be the first season in the entire 138-year history of the English top flight without a team beginning with the letter W.
Just looking at the ratings for #ThatFrame in the snooker last night, and at the point it was taken off BBC2 there were 1.4m people watching, which is the highest rated frame of the Championships so far.
The paperback of the fifth 'Thursday Murder Club' novel, #TheImpossibleFortune is nearly here! Pre-order from any of your favourite bookshops!
Snooker fans, with no disrespect to Lugi Nrorg, Ccott Donalong or the Ricky Walden triplets, I have my suspicions this list might be AI-generated.
Thank you for all your kind words as I step down from #HouseOfGames after 9 amazing years. It is honestly the most fun show to work on, with the most wonderful team, but, after 800 episodes it's time to hand over the keys to a new host. There are plenty of new episodes still to air though, and I'll even be filming one final handover week later in the year! It really has been a treat from start to finish.
#WeChaseShadows out this September #EvenMoreTrouble
New #WeSolveMurders novel out in September! I think you are going to LOVE this one. Then more #ThursdayMurderClub in 2027!

Fulham fans, I was asked to name my all-time Fulham XI but with only one player from any one country. Tougher than I thought, and obvz not too many older players because they were almost all the same nationalities (though I put Davies in ahead of Saha to make up for it). Gutted to have to miss out Cohen/McBride/Dempsey/Moore/Mullery/George Best/Harry W/Finnan/Pahlinha/many others. Here's my attempt. Feel free to add and improve! I found defence the hardest of all. #ffc COYW
