NEW: The U.S. has told several Gulf Arab countries to prepare for a short, intense military campaign against Iran after the midterm elections, the WSJ reports.
U.S. forces are restocking ammunition, while bombers and fighter jets are preparing for strikes. An additional aircraft carrier strike group and Marine expeditionary unit are also expected to join roughly 20 other warships operating in the Middle East next month.

Gas prices during Trump’s second term now average higher than they did under Biden, despite Trump's campaign promise to bring them below $2 a gallon. The increase is largely due to the war with Iran, which has lasted nearly eight months despite Trump’s initial estimate of four to five weeks. The war has disrupted oil shipments through the Strait of Hormuz, a major oil shipping route, driving up oil and gas prices. According to a CNN analysis of AAA data, gas has averaged $3.473 a gallon during Trump’s second term, compared with $3.471 under Biden. Although the difference is just 0.2 cents and gas prices peaked higher under Biden, gas has been at least $4 a gallon on more days in 2026 under Trump than in any year Biden was president.

🚨"SWIMMING WHILE BEING BLACK." A Black woman was swimming at her mom's apartment pool. A white woman demanded her mom's name and apartment number.
She refused. So the woman called the police.
It happened in Michigan in June. Nataasja Drake says she was visiting her mom, who lives at the complex.
"I don't owe you an explanation," Drake told her.
The woman sat down next to her: "If you don't live here, you can't come in."
Drake kept filming: "I'm recording. I'm calm. I ain't did nothing. You walked up on me."
Drake says the officer who showed up "tried his hardest not to laugh." We haven't seen any police statement.
