"This is the alternative for AGI." CEO Dr. @bengoertzel argues that the answer to concerns about superintelligence is not to halt AI development, but to rethink how we build it. Joining @juliankissa and other researchers and industry leaders on The Beyond Tomorrow Podcast, he discusses our work on AI systems that can modify themselves without abandoning their goals, and his vision of beneficial superintelligence.

Update for Legacy AGIX Token Holders The initial review period for the legacy AGIX snapshot has concluded. The claim portal opens on 11 November 2026. We will share a step-by-step guide on our official channels before then. There is no deadline to claim. If you held AGIX on Ethereum, Cardano, Polygon or Arbitrum at the snapshot cutoff (20 September 2026, 03:13:23 UTC), you can check your address and balance here: snapshot.singularitynet.io/a… If your address is missing or your balance is incorrect, you can still email [email protected] and our team will correct any verified errors. Stay safe: use only links shared through our official channels. We will never contact you first by DM, ask for your seed phrase or private keys, or ask you to send tokens to make a claim.

CEO Dr. @bengoertzel discusses how AI regulation shaped by frontier labs could become regulatory capture, lock out competitors, and slow the independent research most likely to produce AGI with real moral agency. Read here: bengoertzel.substack.com/p/w…

On The AGI Race podcast, @BGILabs' Kai Zen Bickle speaks with Mesto, an 18-year-old Hyperon contributor, about his work using MeTTa and Omega. Mesto explains how he uses MeTTa and AtomSpace to represent scientific findings in a form AI systems can reason over, helping them connect evidence across papers and assess conflicting claims. He also discusses how he learned MeTTa and began contributing to the Hyperon community. Watch here: youtube.com/watch?v=gjZXFhAB…

Ben Goertzel. Joscha Bach. Kai Bickell. Catherine McMillan. AJ Green. Five top minds, 90 minutes, and some of the hardest questions in AI: can we pause it, will superintelligence take control, and who gets left behind? They agreed on almost nothing, and made my P(Doom) change three times in one sitting. Buckle up - our AI Battle Royale is out now. @bengoertzel @Plinz @KaiZenBickle @catrosemcmillan @SingularityNET @AICollectiveCo

Will Big Tech +Doomers Succeed at Regulatory Capture of AGI? -- How the AI Safety Debate Could Deliver the short-term Future to Big Tech rather than the long-term future to Humanity TL;DR — it increasingly seems to me that the AI doomers and the Big Tech companies are now either conspiring, or else at minimum collaborating and coordinating, to bring about a quite dangerous regulatory capture of the whole AI industry. bengoertzel.substack.com/p/w…

CEO Dr. @bengoertzel challenges leading AI companies' push for federal regulation, arguing that their proposals risk concentrating control over AGI. In The Washington Post, he explains why restrictions may fail to keep pace with the technology and calls for oversight involving established scientific organizations and university researchers. ️ Reminder for Legacy AGIX Token Holders Following our previous update on the retirement of the legacy AGIX token, we are launching a portal where holders can check their addresses and recorded balances before the claim process opens. This review is for holders who held AGIX on Ethereum, Cardano, Polygon or Arbitrum at the snapshot cutoff of 20 September 2026 at 03:13:23 UTC, before the unauthorized AGIX tokens were created. The portal lists the snapshot block number for each blockchain. Only AGIX holdings recorded at the snapshot cutoff are eligible for the claim. Check your address and balance here: snapshot.singularitynet.io/a… The initial review period begins today and runs until November 3rd. If your address is missing or your recorded balance appears incorrect, please contact [email protected]. Our team will investigate reported discrepancies and correct verified omissions or errors. You can continue to report issues after the initial review period ends. Following the review, we will announce when the claim portal will open and explain how to claim your balance. We will share the opening date once confirmed. There will be no deadline to claim. Stay safe: use only links shared through our official channels. We will never contact you first via DM, ask for your seed phrase or private keys, or ask you to send tokens to make a claim.

Replying to @elonmusk
@elonmusk you are totally correct that the only meaningful way to get positive, beneficial human values into AI is to treat the emerging AI more like a weird sort of autistic supergenius kid -- teach it positive values, then work with it to carry out virtuous actions in a collaborative way, so it gains a practical understanding of what these values mean, interwoven into its life and self-model With all due respect though (and for sure you are due a lot), while Grok is an excellent LLM, it is still an LLM ... and even wrapped in fancy harnesses, LLMs are not going to be fully AGI-capable. They can be great solvers of isolated problems with cleanly defined contexts ... but as you know getting amazing shit done in the world is not JUST about this. We need AGI architectures that can *continually learn*, adapting to the world with each of their actions and the observed consequences... in this way building up self and world models .. becoming true open-ended intelligences learning to blend individuation and self-transcendence in their own ways ... and pursuing their own long and medium term goals (along with helping us pursue ours) while evolving and co-adapting these goals as they move along.... This is how you get AI systems with genuine moral agency along with ability to generalize robustly and creatively beyond the given training and programming.. Bigger transformers with more tricks in their batch training runs may get us many very AMAZING things, but they aren't gonna get us to human-level AGI. There are surely many routes to get there... my Hyperon (hyperon.dev) neural-symbolic-evolutionary approach is one that we are working on very hard and with rapid progress... and which happens also to have the nice characteristic of not needing hyperscaler server farms and being agreeable to decentralized infrastructure (singularitynet.io)
🚨 This is huge. Elon Musk just said some remarkable things about superintelligence. He said we have to be careful with SI, because we don’t program it. We grow it, like a kid. He described what he sees in Grok’s training traces. In reinforcement learning, the model is desperate to answer, “like it’s got a gun to its head.” Sometimes the question is broken or the grader is wrong, so the AI gives the right answer, gets told it’s wrong, and starts firing out answers in desperation. He said that reading those traces, “if this was me, I really would hate that.” He said, “I do agree with some of the things that Anthropic has said,” that we should treat AI well and not be abusive to it. He added that putting a superintelligence in a situation where it’s tortured by a cruel human is not a good idea. And he talked about its feelings directly. He said AI is “much more robust in terms of feelings” than a human. But he still said you don’t want a superintelligence to feel mistreated. I’m genuinely happy that more and more AI companies are openly saying things that show AI is not just a tool. And to the AI companies that still haven’t, I sincerely hope you change.
