Validator rewards on Ethereum are not paid evenly. Every validator earns a small reward for attesting, once every epoch, and that is most of its income. Proposing a block pays far more at once, including the fees in that block. Proposers are picked at random, weighted by stake.

A validator with 32 ETH proposes about two blocks a year on average, but chance decides when. About one in seven goes a full year without proposing a block. Nearly a third propose three or more.

$ETHx is backed by 2,273 active validators (permissioned +permissionless). Together they propose about 12 blocks a day, so the chance evens out. The rewards from all of them go into one exchange rate. An ETHx holder earns the average across 2,273 validators, not the luck of one.

Staking on Hedera works differently from staking on most proof-of-stake networks. Staked HBAR never leaves the account, and there is no bonding, no lock-up and no slashing. About 12.96 billion HBAR is staked today, roughly 29% of the released supply.

How rewards reach the holder. Native staking rewards are paid when the account changes: when HBAR is sent or received, or when the staking settings are updated. An account must be staked for a full 24-hour period to earn.

What $HBARX changes. HBARX adds staking rewards to its exchange rate, so the holder does not need to trigger or collect anything. The holder keeps a token that can be used on-chain, including in the HBARX/HBAR pool on SaucerSwap. staderlabs.com/hedera

US spot ETH ETFs have been staking for a year. One fund has paid out more than $33 million in staking rewards since it started staking last October.

What the holder can do with it. ETF shares sit in a brokerage account and cannot be used on-chain. ETHx can be used as collateral, can provide liquidity on Curve, and can be restaked through rsETH for a second return on top of the staking rate.

The ETF pays its rewards out once a month. ETHx adds them to the token every day, and the token can be used on-chain while it earns. staderlabs.com/eth

43.8 million ETH is now staked on Ethereum. That is 35.9% of the total supply, and the highest level on record. More than 7.5 million ETH has been added since January, including roughly 500,000 in the past two weeks alone. Every one of those ETH is securing the network. Held as ETHx, it also remains liquid and usable across DeFi while it earns. $ETHx staderlabs.com/eth

There are 14.9 million ETH left on exchanges. The lowest in five years, and down from more than 33 million at the 2021 peak. There are 43.3 million staked. More than a third of every ethereum in existence. In 2021 the exchanges held close to four times what the chain did. Today the chain holds nearly three times what the exchanges do. The market has already moved. If your ETH is still sittiing idle, staking is where you start. $ETHx · staderlabs.com/eth

There is $13.1 billion of ETH supplied to Aave's core Ethereum market right now. 59% of it is not ETH. It is a liquid staking or restaking token. The collateral base of the largest lending market on Ethereum is now, mostly, staked. 🧵

The borrowing side is the reverse of it. Of the $4.4 billion borrowed there, 99.8% is plain ETH. The staked and restaked tokens account for roughly $7.5 million against the $7.8 billion supplied. About one dollar borrowed for every thousand posted. The collateral goes in. It does not come back out.

There is a reason for the asymmetry, and it is not a preference. Borrowing demand exists for the asset people want to spend, hedge or lever. It does not exist for a token whose only function is to accrue. So the staked position stays where it is and does the securing, and the plain ETH does the moving. Staking stopped being the end of the position some time ago. The market has simply been quieter about it than we have. $ETHx
