Never thought the day would come and still hoping it won't as XTwitter still works better for me than the alternatives. However, as insurance I'd advise you to follow me on the others and I'll follow you back. All the links on my personal website. stuartbruce.info/#:~:text=NE…

I was part of that charity ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ at the iconic Blackpool Tower. We were raising money for the brilliant @mndcampaigns . Putting in effort (and training) to support causes he cares about is who @andyburnham is and we should absolutely applaud him for it . 🕺🏻🪩

Replying to @BBCPolitics
@BBCPolitics Is woefully compromised in its reporting. Wonder how this contributes to the growing number of licence fee refusers?

Love these videos from @tom_watson tackling head-on the misinformation about Palintir.
Nobody wants to buy a service they can’t walk away from. Palantir’s critics have long claimed we ‘lock in’ our customers. We don’t. This short film explains why. It’s the first in a series on the gap between the rhetoric about Palantir and the work we actually do.

EU Freedom of Movement is NOT an unconditional right under EU law: it is conditional on finding a job or being self-sufficient i.e. not being a burden on taxpayers. Otherwise they have no right to stay. #BBCLauraK

For those mocking the PM for going on Gogglebox: It's for Stand Up to Cancer. For those mocking his tattoo: It's the Manchester Bee, done after the Manchester Arena Attack, where 22 died and 100's more were injured.

We are @OctopusEnergy customers and I know @g__j. We live in a very old house and potentially need to replace our gas boiler. Until I heard this interview I had assumed a heat pump wouldn't work for us. Now wondering if it would.
Tesla vs milk float. That’s how far heat pumps have come. On @TimesRadio this morning, our CEO @g__j took on one of the most common heat pump myths: that they only work in very specific types of (new) homes. But here’s where things stand now: → Heat pumps can heat as hot as a gas boiler → With the Boiler Upgrade Scheme, a like-for-like replacement is cheaper to fit than a gas boiler in 59% of cases → They typically save 25-40% on heating bills Thousands of installers have been trained in recent years, and British manufacturers, including us, are building heat pumps designed for British homes. We’ve seen this play out before. China backed electric vehicles early, went all in on manufacturing and skills, and now leads the world in making them. Heat pumps are the UK’s chance to do the same. Build the industry here, and the jobs, skills and exports follow.

Looking forward to hearing this go live. What @chris_norton doesn't mention is it might need a little editing 😀
It was brilliant to spend a few hours with my good friend @stuartbruce on Weds. Another amazing pod incoming on AI as a stakeholder. #aiinpr

The list sent by Harold Wilson to his cabinet of “little things that mean a lot”, including the protection of pubs, concessionary fares for the elderly, empty office blocks and “the future of the pint”. Echoes of this in Burnham’s small but popular policies today.

Nice stat from @POLITICOEurope UK tech newsletter this morning: "Whitehall departments made £16 billion in day-to-day savings last year, according to the Treasury. It credited AI with efficiencies in the NHS and in schools."

Fantastic appointment.
Some personal news… I’m delighted to be taking on the role of Integrated Chief Customer and Commercial Officer, helping to put customers at the heart of Britain’s railway as we move towards Great British Railways. I’m really looking forward to working with colleagues across the industry on what comes next. A huge thank you to my amazing team at @LNER. It’s been an absolute privilege to lead you for over a decade and I’m incredibly proud of everything we’ve achieved together. networkrailmediacentre.co.uk…

🎃Press releases that make me despair: "Tesco launches FREE pre-carved pumpkins as Brits feel the pressure to perfect Halloween" I mean, the whole point of Hallowe'en pumpkins is they occupy your kids for an hour as they make a mess/slice the top off a finger...

I welcome today's decision on Jackdaw. I have always argued that we should use our own resources to enhance our energy security. (1/3)

Today in the UK, I saw how the Yorkshire Ambulance Service is using Copilot to cut down on administrative work and make better use of its data, and ultimately provide a better experience for medical personnel and patients. It's an early example of what's possible as NHS England expands Copilot to as many as 500,000 clinicians and support staff across the country.

Fantastic and sensible decision by the government to approve drilling at Jackdaw. Good for so many reasons.
Absolutely right decision to grant permission for Jackdaw today. ✅ Energy security
✅ Revenue for Britain
✅ Gas flowing this winter
✅ Jobs protected
✅ Investment unlocked Kudos to my colleague @ToneLangengen for leading the debate on this - even when it was difficult.

It's also amazing how well connected to public transport you are, arriving in the UK on the Eurostar: - St Pancras - Kings Cross - Piccadilly Line - Circle Line - Hammersmith & City - Metropolitan - District - Victoria - Northern - Thameslink - trains from LNER, Lumo, Great Northern, Grand Central, Hull Trains Every city on the GB rail network can be reached in 2 or fewer changes.
Arriving into St Pancras does make you a bit proud. Eurostar train to the underground in about 5 minutes and unlike arriving into many airports the elegant building, bustle of the station and attractive public realm must give a great first impression of Britain.
