Two deadlines, 20 days apart: federal funding runs out Dec. 11, and the Community Health Center Fund expires Dec. 31. That fund is about 70% of federal grant funding for health centers. Congress should extend it, long-term, in the year-end package. #CommunityHealthCenters

Open enrollment for 2027 coverage is almost here. Marketplace premiums are slated to rise about 15%, and the out-of-pocket max climbs to $12,000 for an individual (KFF Health News). Health centers see patients regardless of insurance or ability to pay. kffhealthnews.org/insurance/…

New York's Attorney General estimates at least 475,000 New Yorkers could lose Medicaid once federal work requirements start Jan. 1. Health centers will keep serving them either way, but losing coverage means more people putting off care. #Medicaid cssny.org/news/entry/new-med…

The uninsured rate for adults 19 to 64 rose from 8.9% in 2024 to 11.2% in 2026 (Commonwealth Fund), before H.R. 1's Medicaid cuts fully hit. Health centers see what comes next: people putting off care until it's an emergency. #Medicaid ajmc.com/view/uninsured-rate…

70 days. That's how long until the Community Health Center Fund expires on Dec. 31. It's about 70% of federal grant funding for health centers. Our patients in the Hudson Valley, NYC and Long Island need Congress to extend it, long term, before the year ends. #ValueCHCs

Community health centers are the best buy in American health care. Medicaid patients who get their primary care at a health center cost 24% less overall and have 25% fewer hospital admissions. Investing in health centers saves money and keeps New Yorkers healthy.

So great to host @michellehinchey and @AnilBeephanjr at our Amenia site in Dutchess County to talk rural health and the need to support safety net providers like Sun River Health. Lucky to have these two champions fighting for our communities!

Medicaid matters, even if you’ve never used it. It's one of the most powerful tools we have to improve health outcomes, reduce costs, and strengthen local economies. Without Medicaid, ripple effects are felt by everyone: ◾ ERs become crowded as patients delay primary care. ◾ Costs rise when preventable conditions become emergencies. ◾ Local economies are affected, as health centers and other providers — often the largest employers in rural areas — face financial instability. For every $1 invested in primary care, $13 is saved in downstream costs. 💡 Find out why Medicaid is more than health policy: hubs.li/Q04bd1SC0

We're proud to be a part of the Save NY's Safety Net coalition. The 340B Prescription Drug Discount Program is essential for safety net providers and the 2.5 million patients we serve. The 340B prescription drug program must be protected by the state (A.6222/S.1913).

We could tell you what Community Health Centers mean to people. Or you could just hear it straight from our patients: @GovKathyHochul, @AndreaSCousins, @AmyPaulin, @NYSenatorRivera: fund @CHCANYS's 150M State Share ask. These patients are counting on you.

The 340B prescription drug program is better for patients, better for taxpayers, and leads to better health outcomes. Include the 340B Anti‑Discrimination Act (A.6222 Paulin / S.1913 Rivera) in the NYS budget, @GovKathyHochul.

It is time that New York State recognize Community Health Centers are the answer to rising healthcare costs, patient equity, and improving our state's quality of life.

Congress passed a bill that threatens health coverage and community care for millions of people across New York. These cuts will destabilize our entire healthcare system. But it’s not too late to reverse course! Go to m4usny.org to join our fight.

Advocates for Community Health issued the following statement in response to the launch of the Rural Health Transformation Program and its related Notice of Funding Opportunity on September 15th: Congress created the Rural Health Transformation Program to bring innovation and stability to the rural communities that need it most. Community health centers (CHCs) are the clearest example of this mission in action. With decades of experience delivering affordable, accountable, and high-quality care, health centers are already driving the very outcomes this initiative seeks to expand. With the application for this new program released this week, ensuring health centers have access to these resources is vital. With the right support, they can build on their strong foundation to further strengthen rural communities – by growing the health care workforce, advancing value-based care, and tackling the chronic disease epidemic. As adaptable and forward-looking partners, health centers stand ready to work with federal and state leaders to deliver lasting, sustainable improvements through the Rural Health Transformation Program. CHCs provide comprehensive, patient-centered primary care regardless of ability to pay, including services such as checkups, dental and behavioral health, maternal care, and telehealth. They are also an anchor of the rural health care ecosystem. In 2024, nearly 34 million people received care at a health center—and nearly one in three lived in rural America. hubs.li/Q03JQjj20
