I ask players all the time, βDo you really love the game?β With NIL and social media, itβs getting harder to tell. Do you love basketball for how it makes you feel, or for what it can bring you? Thereβs a big difference between loving the game and loving what the game gives you. - @CoachByronSmith

Be yourself because everyone else is taken! I believe in what I believe, but Iβve also learned to be flexible. You donβt have to compromise who you are to grow. There are different ways to reach the same goal. Sometimes 5+1 works, and sometimes 3+3 gets you there! - @CoachByronSmith

I believe we can learn something from every coach, but that doesnβt mean we should try to become them. Take one or two things that fit who you are and leave the rest.
God made each of us different for a reason. Thereβs no one-size-fits-all approach to coaching. The key is understanding what makes you and your players unique, staying true to who you are, and making room for those differences! - Coach Jakus
