You see on here a lot of accusations of 'lowering expectations' around Man Utd. I get criticised for being too patient. But you can't jump from a zero structure, cashless mess to title winner immediately. That's why expectations altered. They're based on reality and a timeline to get back to the level United SHOULD be at. This season, IMO, we will be closer again to realigning expectation with reality. United NEED a BIG end to the transfer window but I'm expecting one. That's why I'm optimistic for the season ahead. I said United would qualify for the CL last year when many thought they were finished. They came 3rd. This season, I expect consolidation at the very, very least. And I'm hoping for more than that. Man Utd season preview edition of @tplmufc is out now, with @AdamJoseph 🔴

Manchester United gets another reason to believe in their Aurelien Tchouameni pursuit, with his new contract not officially announced yet & the Rodri to Madrid situation changing his position at the club. @__scottsaunders made a great point on the latest episode of @tplmufc, with José Félix Díaz confirming that Tchouameni's new salary is not €13m after tax as reported elsewhere, but actually €9m after tax. So instead of him being on €250k/£215k per week (which is €450k/£390k before tax), his new deal would actually be €175k/£150k per week. That makes a move to United instantly more feasible & realistic. The club is clearly prioritising their summer budget here first & will proceed with Lewis Hall & a forward once it is clear how much is required here. Until then, everything leads to Tchouameni.

Santos ✅ Tchouameni ❌ Man Utd have a strong, young core in Sesko, Santos, Mainoo, Dorgu, Yoro, Heaven, etc. But Tchouameni would've for underpinned everything. The goal is win the league in 2 years. There aren't alternatives of that stature out there. New @tplmufc out now.
