The conversation around mental health should not end when a podcast episode finishes. Take what you learn, check on someone you care about and help create a culture where people feel safe speaking up. #LetsTalk #SafeSpace @AYARHEP_KENYA @ypluskenya

Sometimes the hardest part is finding the courage to say that you are not okay. Let us make it easier for people to speak honestly and receive kindness instead of criticism when they do. #SafeSpace #LetsTalk @AYARHEP_KENYA @ypluskenya

Before telling someone to be strong, take a moment to understand what they might be going through. Empathy begins when we create room for people to express themselves without being dismissed. #SafeSpace #LetsTalk @ahfkenya @ahfafrica @nsdcc_kenya

Mental health is part of our everyday lives, yet many people still struggle to talk about it openly. The more we listen, learn and share, the easier it becomes to support one another. #SafeSpace #LetsTalk @ahfkenya @ahfafrica @nsdcc_kenya
𧡠THREAD (1/2)
A harm reduction service can exist and still remain out of reach. Access is about more than availability. Can people reach services safely, afford them, use them when needed and seek care without stigma, discrimination or mistreatment?
#AfricaNPUD
2/2 Access must also reflect the realities of the communities services are meant to reach.
The real measure is not simply whether services exist, but whether people who use drugs can actually use them and benefit from them.

If harm reduction is to work for people, it cannot rely on one intervention.
People have different needs, so responses must offer multiple pathways to care, from outreach and overdose prevention to treatment and wider support.

.@AYARHEP_KENYA is participating in the @ypluskenya Board Meeting, contributing to discussions on accountability, program implementation and strategic priorities to strengthen the HIV response and advance the needs of young people living with and affected by HIV. #AYARHEPInAction
Harm reduction is not effective simply because a service exists.
It must be accessible, responsive to people's realities and delivered without stigma or discrimination.
People who use drugs must also have a meaningful role in shaping the response.

Since joining @AfricanPuD in 2019, MozPUD has strengthened community-led advocacy in Mozambique through regional learning, research and engagement with institutions and decision-makers.
Support from @RobertCarrFund helps make this possible.

Harm reduction is not only about services. People who use drugs must also have the power to influence the policies and systems that affect their health, rights and dignity.
Strong responses need strong community-led networks.
