Duffus Castle north of Elgin in Moray, an amazingly well-preserved example of a motte and bailey castle. A wooden predecessor was first built here some time prior to 1150 before being replaced by a stone castle in the 1300s. More pics and info: undiscoveredscotland.co.uk/d…
