Extortion rackets have held businesses in Cape Townโs CBD to ransom for years. Beerhouse in Long Street is closing its doors after refusing to pay protection fees. That must end and I'm deeply committed to making that end with whatever tools we have. We do need SAPS to work with us and accept our help." ย Mayoral committee member for safety and security JP Smith tells #Newzroom405's @MichelleL_Craig.
