Erica Gcasamba, 29, Missing After Reportedly Requesting Uber in Greenstone
Concerns are mounting over the disappearance of 29-year-old Erica Gcasamba, who was reportedly last seen in Greenstone, Gauteng, on Saturday, 24 October 2026, after requesting an Uber to travel to a salon. Her family is appealing for public assistance as efforts continue to establish her whereabouts.
Erica Gcasamba’s Disappearance: What We Know
According to a missing-person notice, Erica was last seen between 10:00 and 10:30 on Saturday morning at a residential complex in Greenstone.
The salon she reportedly intended to visit has not been identified in the information provided, and her movements after she was last seen remain unclear.
Her family is urging anyone who may have seen her or witnessed anything that could assist the search to come forward.
Identifying Features of the Missing Woman
Erica is described as approximately 1.5 to 1.6 metres tall, with black hair and brown eyes.
She reportedly has several distinctive tattoos, including stars around her neck and collarbone, wording on her chest, and a floral design on the inside of her right arm.
The missing-person notice also identifies a Renault Sandero with registration number FX17TCGP as a vehicle associated with the reported Uber trip. The circumstances surrounding the vehicle and Erica’s journey have not been independently established.
Police Appeal for Information
Residents of Greenstone, Edenvale and surrounding areas are being asked to assist with information that could help trace Erica’s movements on the morning she disappeared.
Uber drivers, salon employees and anyone who may have encountered her are particularly encouraged to contact the relevant authorities if they have information that could assist the investigation.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Edenvale SAPS on 011 553 8600 or Detective Monareng on 072 117 0015 or 074 021 0111.
Public Assistance Could Prove Crucial
As the search for Erica continues, members of the public are urged to share verified information with the police rather than circulate unconfirmed claims about her disappearance.
Finding missing people requires timely reporting, thorough investigative work and cooperation between families, communities and law enforcement. Anyone with potentially relevant information should contact the authorities directly to help establish what happened to Erica and support efforts to locate her safely.

Have you ever wondered why smartphones no longer have FM radio?
Something that worked for free, without internet, mobile data or even a SIM card, has disappeared from most smartphones.

You people forget so quickly, just 2 years ago we had a full blown illegal military camp operated by Libyans in Mpumalanga, now you’re trying to gaslight us when we speak about military aged men.

Ramaphosa and ANC have deployed the army against South Africans in Soweto!
They also spent R600m in June to protect illegal immigrants! When South Africans need protection the army is no where! The army was no where when needed in Kempton Park!
Vote ANC out!

Little known fact: 15 years ago (2011) asylum seekers could not apply for any form of social relief from SA Gov. Scalabrini Centre & Another v Minister of Social Development (June 2020) changed that & they qualify for SRD Grant. It always starts out as impossible until it isn't
Replying to @WonderMahlobo
This information is incorrect.
Asylum seeker status does not give a person the right to vote in South African elections. Only South African citizens who are 18 years or older & on the voters’ roll are eligible to vote.
Always verify information through official IEC platforms.

A Ghanaian immigration lawyer practising in South Africa is literally telling newcomers to “take advantage” of this ruling. Do we have South African lawyers doing this in their countries???? She’s actually making a living out of this! I’m livid!!! @HomeAffairsSA @ParliamentofRSA
This is actually insane. You can enter South Africa illegally, bypass a port of entry, have no visa, fail to report within five days and only later declare that you want asylum and Home Affairs must still accept your application without first requiring you to explain your illegal entry.
And people still don’t understand why South Africans are asking serious questions about our asylum system.
