An update from the Liquid Federation on the next stage of the @Liquid_BTC Network's recovery.
Liquid Network Restoration Update
With key technical milestones completed and network operations stable, user swap functionality is now restored with semi-automated swaps for Federation members. Normal peg and balance validation will be reinstated soon.
The Liquid Network’s members appreciate the broader Bitcoin community’s support and advocacy as we work to not only provide the restoration, but also harden the network’s security structure.

@BlockstreamApp (formerly green wallet) has multisig 2fa feature. if you were using a HWW which turned out to have a hardware bug, using @blockstream wallet (and turn on 2fa eg google auth), you would have a last line of defense: the seed alone does not allow theft of funds.

Since mid-2024, Blockstream Services USA and Blockstream Services Canada have not been under the ownership, control, or management of Blockstream Corp. The businesses were spun out as part of the Blockstream Mining business and have since operated as separate companies, with no shared equity ownership or management with Blockstream Corp.
Following the separation, they retained the Blockstream name for a limited period under a brand licensing agreement.
We have published the technical security assessment of the September 6 Liquid incident, which details the root cause and mechanics of the exploit, an incident timeline, and the engineering and security changes being implemented in response.
