I think Brad's last two debate appearances sunk him. He was rude and full of himself. The way he smiled and snickered at his supporters in the audience felt weird. Even sinister. Until the last 2 debates he was going to win. With those arrogant facial expressions voters saw who he really is. A guy who shouldn't be trusted with anything. #topoli

EL-SAYED: I get that the President takes personal offense to my first name. He doesn't mind as much when it's the Saudis who are funding his son-in-law's private equity. Doesn't seem to mind as much when it's the Qataris who are giving them a $400 million private jet. He just seems to have trouble pronouncing it when it's my name.  I don't care how he pronounces my name. I don't even care that he remembers my whole name. Because he can just go on and call me senator after November.

Musk fucked up. No one can trust him. He earned that.
India said NO to Starlink. Musk thought he could throw a public tantrum and bully India into handing him a telecom monopoly, but he completely miscalculated. Thanks to Trump’s reckless betrayal of global allies and cozying up to dictators, the world is waking up to a terrifying truth: you simply cannot trust America—or its arrogant billionaires—with your national security anymore. Fareed Zakaria: “Elon Musk picked the wrong moment to lecture Indians. Frustrated that Starlink had not been cleared to launch in that country, he accused the government of protecting Mukesh Ambani whose telecom network Jio will launch its own satellite service. Musk cast himself as the champion of ordinary Indians against one of the country's richest men. It backfired. India's government dismissed his accusation as baseless. An influential nationalist group close to the ruling party went further demanding that Starlink be kept out of India altogether citing national security. Media and online reactions were similarly hostile to Starlink. Musk did not understand that in India as in much of the world, trust in America is collapsing. Indians have watched as Donald Trump has discarded 25 years of bipartisan outreach to New Delhi in favor of cozying up to Pakistan and its de facto dictator Field Marshal Asim Munir. They have watched Trump essentially abandon Ukraine, where the military version of Starlink has been suspiciously restricted, thus crippling Ukraine's military response to Russian aggression. Would India define itself in another crisis with Pakistan? Would it want its armed forces to be utterly dependent on a US satellite system controlled by Trump?”

Her courage to speak against inhumanity and war in the Middle East has made her a target. She's up against big money and people who are determined to make her pay for speaking the truth. They could care less about city issues. Probably some foreign interference involved too.
"I've been very clear that I've said no to hate, no to anti Semitism and I was at the vigil just few weeks ago, and which I've done so. However I do not support what the the Israeli government is doing." @OliviaChow addresses concerns of her support of Toronto's Jewish community.

Mayor Chow is change. She inherited a mess from Mayor Tory and in 3 years is turning things around and has had many successes. Councillor Bradford peddles and promotes fear. He weaponizes people’s insecurity. He’s rabid raw ambition and his record diverges from what he says now.
Crime. Congestion. Cost of living. These are the issues residents feel every day.  I’m running for Mayor because I believe we can do better on all three. On October 26, vote for change. Vote to help Toronto meet its full potential.

I am voting for @MayorOliviaChow because I want to see Toronto as a more walkable city, with someone who understands mobility is about connectivity and proximity . I do not want a cheer leader for Doug Ford and the insanity of a tunnel under the 401 and the unrelenting increase in induced demand and traffic concentration @BradMBradford has argued for. As Jane Jacobs put it. Widening highways to reduce congestion is like letting out your belt to lose weight". I live at the corner of two wards and I hope both city councillors are replaced. As a former Mayor and city councillor and MPP for Toronto Centre I know the commitment it takes to represent my neighbours. We had that with Pam McConnell and we have been missing it at City Hall ever since. However, Olivia has been a very community responsive mayor. I am grateful for that.
