Measure C would update the rate to 12%, bringing Burbank closer to rates already in place in neighboring cities. Here’s a look at the regional comparison: 📍 Burbank – 10% today ➡️ 12% if Measure C is approved 📍 Glendale – 12% 📍 Pasadena – 12.11% The hotel tax is paid by visitors staying in Burbank hotels and motels, not Burbank residents. If approved, Measure C is estimated to generate approximately $3 million annually in locally controlled funding for City services. On November 3, Burbank voters will consider two measures related to how members of the Burbank City Council are elected. Because Measures CC and CD are separate ballot questions, what happens next depends on how voters decide on both measures. Here’s how the possible outcomes work: ✅ YES CC + NO CD Burbank continues at-large elections, but the amended Charter provides flexibility for alternative election methods in the future, which could help the City adapt to changes in state or federal law and reduce the risk of future costly litigation. ❌ NO CC + YES CD Burbank continues at-large elections because Measure CD cannot take effect unless Measure CC also passes. ❌ BOTH MEASURES FAIL No change. Burbank continues its current at-large election system and the existing Charter requirements remain in place. ✅ BOTH MEASURES PASS Burbank transitions to by-district elections using Map 130, beginning with Districts 2 and 4 in 2028 and Districts 1, 3 and 5 in 2030.
