🐂 THE BEST IDEA YOU TAKE HOME THIS YEAR COULD COME FROM TWO DAYS IN WAGGA. Not from a webinar. Not from social media. Not from sitting in the office. From a conversation with another producer. A question asked during a field demonstration. A challenge from a speaker that changes the way you think about your business. This October, Cattle Connect 2026 brings together producers, researchers, industry leaders and innovators for two days of practical ideas, fresh perspectives and valuable connections. Some people will leave with new contacts. Some will leave with new opportunities. Some will leave wishing they'd come sooner. 📍 Wagga Wagga, NSW 📅 22-23 October 2026 👉 Secure your place now. 🐂 Are we breeding cattle that look good on paper, or cattle that perform where it matters most? International cattle expert PJ Budler will bring a global perspective to Cattle Connect 2026, challenging producers to think beyond growth figures and genetic rankings when making breeding decisions. Having judged 109 cattle breeds across 54 countries, PJ has seen firsthand what drives success in different environments and production systems. His session will explore the balance between genetics, fertility, structure, efficiency, adaptability and longevity, and how these factors contribute to a productive and profitable herd. PJ’s practical approach focuses on selecting cattle that suit your environment and business objectives, while asking an important question: Are we breeding for numbers, or are we breeding for outcomes? Whether you’re focused on genetics, herd performance or long-term profitability, you’ll come away with valuable insights to apply to your own operation. 📅 22–23 October 2026 📍 Charles Sturt University, Wagga Wagga, NSW 👉 Register now: cattleconnect26.eventsairsit…

Cattle Australia has today released the recommendations of the Cattle Transaction Levy Review Committee, with a resolution to be put to a levy payer vote at the MLA AGM in Townsville on 24 November 2026. The resolution responds directly to feedback from more than 1,000 producers gathered through survey responses and participation in the largest consultation exercise conducted with levy payers in nearly two decades. The strongest and most consistent message from stakeholders was the need for greater transparency and accountability for what the levy delivers. EUFTA-30,000 tonnes into one of the world's highest-value beef markets. We're told that's good enough for Australian producers. It won't be in full effect for a decade. We exported 30K tonnes of beef a week last year. Not good enough. What else is in this deal - who benefits?
