👀The CVS split could change the marketplace for the better, but it’s too early to tell. “So now, they should behave like a regular pharmacy, but we’ll see how that goes. 🤑 $193 million a year. That’s how much Massachusetts could save under one model that carves the Medicaid pharmacy benefit out of managed care and moves it back to fee-for-service, according to a new report from the Massachusetts Health Policy Commission. The case for pharmacy benefit reform keeps getting stronger. 🔗 Learn more: ncpa.org/newsroom/qam/2026/1…

“CVS clearly sees the writing on the wall: growing sentiment on Capitol Hill and in the states against the abuses and competitive imbalances created by vertical integration in the health care sector,” says @RPhDouglas in a statement, encouraging lawmakers and regulators at all levels to scrutinize the reorganization very closely as the details of the transaction and its implementation in the marketplace become clearer: ncpa.org/newsroom/news-relea…

NCPA’s Innovation Center today announced the launch of VaxLink, a new digital exchange designed to connect independent pharmacies with long-term care, assisted living communities, and nursing homes that need on-site vaccination support. VaxLink’s complimentary online ZIP code search tool allows communities, caregivers, and patients to locate and connect with nearby pharmacy partners about vaccination access and offerings. The goal is to make it simpler for pharmacies to reach the residents who need them most, and for LTC settings to secure reliable, local vaccination support. 🧛 PBMs have been sucking the lifeblood out of community pharmacy for years. The scariest thing this Halloween would be letting PBMs write the rules. CMS is asking what's "reasonable and relevant" in Medicare Part D, and this is your chance to influence how reimbursement works and ensure pharmacies have a voice in the process! 🦇 Don't let the vampires get the last bite. “The employers who pay PBMs to administer their health plans have been kept in the dark for many years when it comes to these fees and other forms of compensation. This new rule creates additional transparency for the first time,” said NCPA's Ronna Hauser in a news release applauding the rule. ▶️ ncpa.org/newsroom/news-relea…
