My new Tangent "Liberalism" is about how discussing politics online is immoral and bad. Also, why I'm such a lib, the immortal science of Marxism-Leninism, the Zionist entity IsNotReal, eternal 2016, punching left, THE TRUTH about why I allowed the nefarious warlord Killary "The Destroyer" into my domicile, and the reason I've decided to leave political commentary behind. This is what we are fighting for .
Paprika (2006) makes most modern sci-fi feel tame. Satoshi Kon was playing on another level.

The response to this is the maddest I’ve ever seen Twitter leftists get about Trump. Damn, I should’ve tweeted this BEFORE the election.
I thought Trump 2 was gonna be way worse. Every day now I wake up with a euphoric sense of relief

I keep ordering from these AI menus but so far it’s been a real disappointment
Just Eat's rollout of AI menu photos is going flawlessly

Thank god for this man’s narcissism. Thank god he’s a vapid dandy running out the clock obsessing over trinkets and ballrooms.

I want to help people interpret this tweet because many are struggling. When I say “worse than I thought” I’m proposing a counterfactual situation: what I expected Trump 2 to be. I was expecting Hitler. Trump 2 is very bad, but not Hitler bad. I therefore am massively relieved that it’s not Hitler bad. So, although it is bad, though millions have died (as expected), the situation is much less bad than my expectation of how bad it was going to be. The fact that my expectations of how bad it was going to be are worse than what it is, does not imply that what it is, is not bad. Merely that it is less bad than the counterfactual situation—that is, less bad than my expectations.

Every night I fall asleep listening to ChatGPT analyze the previous night’s dreams. I insist we’re on the bleeding edge of occult hypnotherapy. I ask 20 questions a day about Saint Namtar and the Salt Ziggurat.

No one is born into goth culture. It’s an affectation. All goths are posers. This is good. Artifice is good. The ones called posers are the ones not posing enough.
so this is the fakest shit ever right?

this is just how all academic philosophers talk all the time
🚨 BREAKING NEWS: Omg!!!! Sam Harris pondering: “Why can’t we eat babies? What’s wrong with eating babies? If we have extra babies around and nobody wants them, why can’t we eat them?” Sick demonic bastard from hell….
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
The 2014 clip is from Harris's TYT interview with Cenk Uygur. He used 'why can't we eat babies?' as a philosophy seminar hypothetical to probe ethical foundations, noting it sounds insane out of context and makes him look bad. He was not advocating it. youtube.com/watch?v=WVl3BJ… youtube.com/watch?v=NTtMVs…

I know baby eating is an upsetting topic for normies but try not to take it personally. Most of these people don’t even eat meat because they thought about it too much

Gould groomed me into the Bach cult when I was a teen, and I’m grateful for that, but with age and musical experience I increasingly listen to his choices and think, What the hell is he doing?

I’ll always love this video though, and continue to interrupt my own practicing to walk over to the window in a bathrobe and start scatting like a lunatic
Happy birthday to Glenn Gould, born on this day in 1932!
