6) Next step is what happened to us last 2 days, pushed out by centralised region, certain countries will lead on the digital world- I’m yet to know where yet! But the USA is looking strong.

Artwork: ‘Drawing Operations Unit: Generation 2’
Sougwen Chung is a Chinese-Canadian artist and researcher renowned for pioneering collaborations between humans and machines in art. A former research fellow at MIT's Media Lab, Chung explores the interplay between hand-drawn and machine-generated marks to delve into human-computer interactions. In 2024, she was honored as one of TIME's 100 Most Influential People in AI and received the TIME100 Impact Award.
Among her works, ‘Drawing Operations Unit: Generation 2’ (2017) is a performance involving a robotic arm that learns and replicates the artist's drawing style through machine learning. The project involves analyzing the visual styles of historic artists to translate them into gestures and color palettes, creating a collective memory bank from which the robotic arm can select. This project exemplifies the fusion of human creativity and robotic precision, offering insights into the evolving relationship between artists and technology.
