Silver lining: Jordan Watkins stepped up and made the most of his opportunity with a depleted WR unit. Ugly loss, but it was nice to see Watkins get involved and showcase that he can help this offense moving forward.

Brock Purdy discussed his two interceptions: First INT: “I thought maybe Christian Kirk on the scramble was going to be there, but then towards the end, as I was getting ready to throw. I was like no it’s not and so I just went to throw it away by the sideline and then Bates all of a sudden came across and made a good play and I was like: ‘You got to be kidding me.’” Second INT: “Linebacker was mugged up on the line of scrimmage, thought we had a alley outside to Jordan Watkins, and was going to throw, and it was there and thought it was going to be like a drive by like play. All of a sudden I threw the ball and he came from the backside and tipped it up to himself, didn’t see him or anything, so credit to him, he made a good play.”

Fred Warner after the loss: “All the way through, I’m a believer, on the road you always have to pack your defense. You pack your defense, you pack your special teams. I feel like we were ready for the challenge to come out and play our best game and unfortunately we just didn’t do that. I feel like we had so many opportunities to take the ball away. I was super close on a couple of those punch outs and the ball just didn’t happen to fall on the ground. It’s no excuse, at the end of the day, it is what it is. They outplayed us, we gotta make sure we go back, we look at it hard, correct the mistakes, and get ready for the next round.”
