2026 is one of DeFi’s worst years for exploits.
Firelight cover is live on @krakenfx Protected Strategies USDC and @SentoraHQ’s USD Protected and Protected RWA vaults.
Here's how it works for stakers. 🧵
stXRP’s onchain rate is sourced from cover premiums paid to protect DeFi capital. That rate is now tradable on @spectra_finance, so holders can separate principal from yield and choose the exposure that fits them.
Learn more. 👇
stXRP now has an onchain rate, coming from @Firelightfi cover activity.
On Spectra, it trades via Principal and Yield Tokens, opening new use cases for XRPFi on @FlareNetworks.
How to get started and what it means for traders and liquidity providers ↓
How does Firelight cover work?
→ A vault operator pays a premium for cover over a set period.
→ FXRP staked through Firelight backs that cover.
→ Part of the premium reaches stXRP holders in top-ups through the month.
→ The stXRP share price steps up with each top-up.
🧵
The vault operator pays the premium in USD, and Firelight distributes the staker share to the stXRP vault as FXRP. Each top-up adds FXRP to the vault, so the share price rises at each top-up and holds steady between them.
Stakers back the full Firelight portfolio collectively, so the stXRP vault receives premium from every vault Firelight covers.

How do you protect on-chain capital when smart contracts and protocols fail?
Tomorrow at 9AM UTC, @ConnorSullie, Chief Strategy Officer at Firelight, joins @surgence_io for a live X Space to discuss how on-chain protection can help manage DeFi risk.
Tune in live.
There’s $100 billion sitting in DeFi protocols. Under 2% of it has any protection behind it.
Tomorrow on SURGECAST, Connor from @Firelightfi shares why cover has never scaled, and what he has built to solve this problem instead.

There is a reason Firelight started with XRP as the deposit asset. @jrdothoughts breaks it down 👇

It never made sense to me why fintechs take loans from banks just so they can settle on the inefficient bank rails.
We can do better

Every cover on Firelight starts with a premium. Vault operators pay it for protection over a defined term, backed by FXRP staked in the vault.
Once settled, premiums are converted to FXRP and stream into that same vault.

Hope you can join this AMA, I'll be joining Firelight to discuss vault security and reflect on 2026 exploits. A good primer for a lot of the DSS and Devcon discussions to come

The issuance of RWA's is a great first step. Private programmability is the next step.
Those vaulted pools of assets will also need coverage. @Firelightfi and $FXRP will manage that risk on Flare.
This is the catalyst for institutional DeFi exposure.
"XRP is the issuance chain. Flare is the programmable chain."
-@HugoPhilion at @XRPSEOUL, during @kbwofficial.
The next question is what an institution can do with the asset.
