Institutional tokenized collateral is moving beyond siloed use cases, but how will the market avoid fragmentation?

🇺🇸 BREAKING: The U.S. Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) has finalized GENIUS Act regulations establishing federal standards for stablecoin issuance, reserves, custody and supervision.
The rules take effect January 18, 2027.

Today, OpenZeppelin announced Chainlink as its default interoperability and compliance integration within supported token development tooling.
According to OpenZeppelin:
• 9 of the top 10 stablecoins use its contracts.
• All 10 leading tokenized money market funds use its contracts.
• $38 trillion+ in cumulative value transferred through its contracts.
Chainlink's CCIP and Automated Compliance Engine (ACE) are now natively integrated into OpenZeppelin tooling for ERC-20, ERC-3643 and future token standards.
The agreement establishes a migration path from OpenZeppelin Defender to Chainlink Runtime Environment (CRE), with three institutional reference solutions planned around CRE orchestration.
Separately, S&P Global announced an agreement to acquire OpenZeppelin on September 17, 2026.
