GODZILLA MINUS ZERO is the loudest movie I’ve ever heard in my entire life. This will be a reference title for testing theater setups. Unbelievable film, and the definition of FILMED FOR IMAX.

Don’t forget Apple added their own film styles this year in the stock camera app. I shot these with the iPhone Duo. No third party apps.

Apple’s photographic style’s are missing real granular control, and I find the grain heavy handed but nothing beats a first party camera experience. It’s a great free option.

Quick thoughts on the new OLED MacBook Pro. - The Apple logo glow is really nice in person and it’s great to see it back. - Touch seems fun but it remains to be seen how the software reacts. - A full matte black option would have been killer - The screen is *beautiful*

A new look at the filmmaking tech they invented to film THE ODYSSEY.

Hoyte van Hoytema did a masterclass today on the Universal backlot. He broke down all the new tech they’ve developed over the years that ultimately helped make THE ODYSSEY possible. Bespoke camera systems, rigs, lights, and lenses. I’ll have a video soon. Amazing stuff.

They weren’t sure if they could film THE ODYSSEY entirely with IMAX cameras so they planned to shoot vertical anamorphic 65mm, and then expand to 15-perf 1.43 Panavision made custom anamorphic lenses that ultimately never got used. This could be a whole new way to shoot IMAX.

The highlight of tonight’s YOU CAN SEE EVERYTHING Q&A was @nathanfielder and @HertzBarry talking about The Fast and the Furious franchise. Nathan and Barry’s favorite? FAST FIVE. Lance went with Tokyo Drift.
